Wan Shun Restaurant — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Restaurants are mostly hit or miss for me. Most of the time I just get disappointed when I paid a lot of money for some mediocre food. Not here. It's one of the best food I've ever had!

It blows my mind that it checks all the boxes: fast service clean restaurant amazing taste combination, texture affordable

The taste is worth an emphasis: it's perfect! So pleasantly complex. For example, I don't know how, but they managed to make eggplants feel crunchy and light while still retaining a whole lot of flavour. All the ingredients work together in harmony and make you want to forget you have a limited stomach capacity.

I highly recommend this restaurant. It gives me faith that great dining experience...

Unexpectedly authentic Northern Chinese food. I found this restaurant in Amstelveen provide quite authentic northern Chinese food, which is quite rare in West Europe. For the four dishes that i tried, only one is not very authentic, but it is still delicious. The pork-pickle gyoza reminds me of my mom’s cooking and next time I would try the steamed version. The restaurant is filled up by Chinese groups who attend exhibitions. So besides that it can be very noisy when the restaurant is filled up, everything is great (surely the noisy environment is also very nostalgic). The boss of the restaurant is very attentive to clients and he is also from Northern China. I will surely come again to try more of...

We went to this restaurant because of the high rating, but we were extremely disappointed.

Bad points: • The dishes tasted either too bland or too vinegary. Nothing tasted like how they should be. • The portions are extremely small for the amount of money you pay. • We ordered 5 dishes (for 4 people) and they all came at different times with long wait in between. • Service was very bad. When we walked in, the person behind the desk did not even look up or greet us while the restaurant was not busy at all. We waited a while and then had to walk up to this person to be seated. The waitress was rude and very unfriendly.

Needless to say, we will never go back to this...
