Not recommended. We booked a table for five, and ended up changing to a table of four which was not a problem, so far so good? nothing wrong here.
Sadly, this is where the tide turns. We ordered some dishes, mostly not very well prepared, and one of the dishes (bibimbap) was missing the sauce (I'd say it's pretty hard to miss, but okay). Calamari was very soggy and greasy, it tasted microwaved.
The real problem emerged at the end. We booked a table from 18:00 onwards, and ordered desserts at 20:05. Around 20:15 staff came to us and informed us we had to finish our desserts at the bar or a table for two (???) as other guests arrived. We were fairly surprised by this as our reservation did not inform us about a max duration of 2 hours, so we agreed to leave and have dessert at another restaurant, but in my opinion kicking out guests due to limited time is very odd if the restaurant is not an all you can eat (which this is not). Furthermore, don't take our orders at 20:05 if you're expecting us to leave at 20:00.
Although this is certainly the worst part of the experience, this review probably would not have been more than 3 stars anyway. The staff is not good, the atmosphere is meh (especially the face that lights are too bright and tables are super close), and the food was outright bad.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Instead, go to Stan & Co for a similar concept with a much better experience or to Bleecker street (experience will be similar but it's a fixed price for the entire evening). Both of these have a much better atmosphere, staff, and food.
Only positive things about this place are the flexibility of changing the booking and one of the drinks (aloha) which I do admit was...
Read moreThis afternoon I went to the “Goed Proeven” restaurant in Arnhem with my partner, my 9-year-old daughter and her 10-year-old friend.
We are delighted with the warmth of the entire staff. We actually just wanted to have a drink together at the bar. But then we noticed the pizza oven and ate a delicious focaccia. An employee or pizza chef even let our two children make two small mini pizzas at the bar. We've never experienced anything so warm in a restaurant. The children were able to create their own little pizzas and then watch them being baked in the pizza oven. We then had a very pleasant chat with this nice person, whose name we unfortunately don't know.
The ambience in “Goed Proeven” is also great and very high quality. The large windows illuminate the entire restaurant.
We would like to thank the nice man who created the pizzas with the children and the entire staff for this unique stay. We will of course be very happy to return. You...
Read moreTheir coffee is legit amazing with prices from €3.25-€4.50 (go for the special brews up to €8.50). But don't stop at coffee - they've got an awesome beer selection too! You GOTTA try their Piri Piri Ribs - half rack of spare ribs with licht pittige (mildly spicy) seasoning and killer BBQ sauce. For something sweet, their sorbet ice cream trio (mango, lemon & vanilla cream) is super refreshing.
The real MVP? Their BBQ Chicken Pizza loaded with melty mozzarella, cheddar, bell peppers and red onions - flavor game strong! Portions are huge, perfect for sharing. Prices? Totally fair for this quality. Basically Goedproeven is your go-to spot for great coffee, tasty eats and chill vibes.
