Ceviches Poolbar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Aruba

Arrived for dinner close to 7 pm, we were served water and told someone would be right back. By 7:20 we were stopping any employee that was passing by to see if we could see a menu or perhaps order a drink. When we received the menus, the man asked if he had already taken our order? It wasn't busy by any means, maybe 5 tables at a time on rotation. Everyone around us seemed to be receiving a better level of service, including the other who arrived after we did. Tables of 2 and a table of 5 adults and 3 small children were immediately tended to. That table arrived an hour (at least) after we had and were wrapping their dinner up before we were finished ourselves. Our dinners were whisked away, we were not asked if we'd like to wrap anything. The appetizer was brought out, we had to ask for plates. We went to the restroom and upon return found extra drinks on the table that we actually didn't order, (because we were never asked if we wanted another drink) that belonged to another table. Periodically, we were asked if everything was okay but in a customary way, not because they felt anything was wrong lol maybe they were understaffed? Either way, I'm gonna say that the food was pretty good. Service not so good. This place may have good prices but I consider it overpriced for the horrible experience we had....

Ceviches is the fourth restaurant to inhabit this space at the Caribbean Palm Village. (I bought the second year it was open in 1986.) Am I glad they are here! This is the islands. The staff is remarkable. They go out of their way to make you feel important. They know you are here to enjoy your vacation. Every day the restaurant has specials. Don't miss the fish night. They also have mastered pastas. Breakfast, though, is my favorite meal at Ceviches. Don't pass up the opportunity to have a cup of their rich Dutch coffee. The dining room is open to the elements. The ceiling soars. Ceviches also has tables outside the dining room facing the pool which are also popular. The two bars in the restaurant are always hoppin'. Catch the action at the outside one. Sports of all kinds is always available on one of the TVs. I live there so I can fall out of bed and have breakfast. But the parking lot is a long walk. Plus the gate is locked. A guard will have to let you in....but...

Upon arrival we noticed Ceviches had a great daily happy hour. We spent many days having 2 for 1 drinks. The best part was the friendliness and professionalism of the bartenders....shout out to Lucy and Brenda!! Always a lively group and conversation.

Then there is the restaurant! We have concluded, after eating out many times, that this place should be considered as one of the best around. Fresh food cooked to perfection. And Brenda went to the kitchen to change our preferences when we preferred not to have something fried to grilled. Overall, we can't say enough about this place. Look forward to returning...
