Donna & Giorgio — Restaurant in Bonaire

My family and I tried to dine here multiple times before, with each time saying that the restaurant had to be booked multiple weeks (and even months) in advanced. After dining, I cannot say that the reservation time is worth it.

There is no wine menu to speak of. We asked if the restaurant had multiple common wines and the waitress replied that she did not have any of these, except for one. Eventually the owner (or manager) came and corrected this. With no drink menu, it felt strange to guess what the restaurant had.

The food itself was mediocre in quality. I had the Sphagetti and Mussel dish. It came out as more of a soup. The sauce (if it can be called this) barely clung to the noodles and was very greasy. There was a high volume of mussels too. It was a shame how mediocre the food was compared with how high our expectations were of this restaurant. The best thing on the menu is most likely the appetizers: the caprese salad and the bread with garlic butter.

I cannot recommend this restaurant in any capacity as it did not meet any of our expectations. The service was lackluster with out waitress not knowing basic questions about the menu. I understand that if the waitress was new and she did not know some portions of the menu and having to ask, but saying the restaurant did not carry items when it blatantly did...

The food was great however…. I will never be back. Donna took our order. I was in a party of 7. I order soup and lasagna. I asked that the soup be brought out as an appetizer. . One of the women in our party ordered the soup as an entree. All of the appetizers came out but the conversation at our table was lively. I didn’t realize I had not received mine until the entree was almost out. I cancelled my soup. Donna came out and told me I should have told the server I had not received my soup. She went on to say that the kitchen was already making my soup. I told her perhaps she should have written dinner positions on our order. I have literally never had anyone tell me that a mistake made by anyone from a restaurant I was patronizing was my fault. Donna was rude and never came back out to our table. This is not my first trip to Bonaire and I will be back but never to Donna...

Great little Italian restaurant on the main drag just a block or so from the main downtown business district. Donna runs the front end and Giorgio runs the kitchen. I guess they have been here for many years. The food is delicious and reasonably-priced and Donna is a lovely person. They were willing to help me with my medical vegan diet, and the result was great! We went there twice and if we return to Bonaire, they will be at the top of my list. Restaurant is fairly small, so be sure to call a day or so in advance for reservations. There are outdoor tables---not bad but a bit near the street and can sometimes be noisy. Highly recommended,...
