Very cool and unique eating experience that seemed ridiculously popular with all the locals. It was stated that you need reservations most of the time because they have limited seating plus limited fish sometimes as everything is freshly caught and literally almost brought in moments before. Our friend knew the owners there and got us a table luckily and even though we had zero clue what we were about to order, we actually enjoyed it very much. We had never had fish in full form before with.... everything included on it.....and surprisingly it wasn't that bad. No we don't do heads or eyeballs but the meat peeled off rather easily and we didn't get any bones. We also some conch which was very interesting and of a different texture than we were used too. Again, you could tell this place was ridiculously popular with the locals as they had to turn away about 20 people just while we were there. Nice outdoor deck dining and the kitchen is literally right in the middle...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant because my fiance really wanted to try lionfish. The restaurant itself was very cute and the staff were kind and accommodating. My fiancé was very excited to try the lionfish and they initially said they did not have any left but then went above and beyond to find him one last serving. As to the flavor of the food, it was okay. If it wasn't for the service and kindness I would give the restaurant a lower rating. The fish did not have any sauce or flavor and just tasted like plain fried fish. If that is what you like then this place is great but I prefer my fish with the flavourful sauces I have had at other restaurants in curacao. It is a cool concept though that they get fresh fish in everyday and offer lionfish! If you are looking for lionfish this is a great option! But I preferred other restaurants such as Jaanchie's and De Visserij which had incredible fresh fish with...
Read moreThis spot was recommended by the manager of the Renaissance. After looking at the reviews and the pictures, we figured why not give it a try since we love to venture out and try local food. This place DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The wait wasn't long and the portions were not small. The snapper was cooked to perfection and they give you two whole fish. The fried polenta was so so, but the sauce that came with it was amazing. We utilized that to put on the fish and it was an even better flavor. The entire bill was under $50. The absolute best thing about the spot was my sister wasn't feeling too well and we asked them to call a cab. The owner said it would take 20 minutes and that was too long so she had her son drop us back to our hotel. It was the sweetest gesture ever and we were so thankful. I highly recommend this...
