I’m currently staying at this hotel. I saw all of the mixed reviews and still decided to stay here like an idiot; my verdict = do NOT come here. this place is awful and absolutely not worth the premium price! They must be buying reviews because it is not 5 stars, would barely even classify it as 3. The one thing that has been driving me crazy: We have been here 3 days now, and our refrigerator was never stocked. They put two bottles of beer in our room and nothing else. Other people get an assortment of drinks, sodas, juices, and we never got anything. We haven’t even gotten water bottles. i asked through their app multiple times, i went up to reception twice in person, i called twice. they don’t do ANYTHING!!! This place has the worst service ever. Quite literally don’t do anything you ask. And you’re not even asking for anything insane. We are basically begging for WATER every single day. Left notes and put it on our fridge, nothing! They see it, acknowledge it, and don’t provide anything. Such strange behavior. Just asked for a canned soda two minutes ago and they said oh it’s in your fridge! We never got anything and keep asking 3 times a day. I asked for a coke zero at reception after I saw a staff member go into the “staff only” room to get one, and then was told they don’t have any. Lol. Anyway, to the actual review as I needed to rant about being deprived of water and a can of soda (??? why are they doing that seriously), as other reviews have said, the room has a smell. you can hear when other people in other rooms turn the water on. housecleaning knocks on your door loudly at 9AM and then don’t actually clean anything. they make the bed, leave dirty rags in the room (see pic 1), and don’t restock anything (see pic 2 of us begging for water and a refill of sugar???). Both slippers we got came with coffee stains on them? They definitely reuse them.. see pic 3/4. The beach is not a real beach. You will need to rent a car and drive elsewhere. Pools are good, there are two large ones. Pretty deep. Late afternoon you can’t find a clean towel. Ridiculous. The food is not bad. I wouldn’t stay here for the all inclusive aspect though. Not worth the hassle and there are good restaurants outside the resort. The first night we couldn’t book a restaurant because their booking system is genuinely ridiculous and had to eat out. You can only make a reservation 10-4 for the next day. The app does not work. I have tried asking for things on that app and they don’t do what you request but check that they do. They see it but choose to ignore. I have had to go to a supermarket to get certain food and drinks because they will not provide it. Lunch is only open for two hours and then for a 4 or so hour period you have to wait for dinner. There’s a snack bar at the other hotel where you can get burgers and hot dogs in that long period. The buffet never has utensils. Everything is self service. No one has come up to me once this entire time for anything. The staff is rude besides one or two people who might smile at you. The Turkish bartender is great. There are drinks left everywhere, no one cleans anything around the hotel. The guests here are also a bit strange; there would be a line at the buffet for meat (where you would wait at least 5-10 minutes for) and then the first couple people would literally fill up two plates with most of the meat that arrived and it would be empty again. Mind you there’s a decent selection of other food? No decorum. Just overall strange place. If you were reading the reviews and googling this hotel and decided you wanted to give it a chance despite the things people said: I was in the same boat. DONT DO IT! The bad reviews are right. This place is not worth it. Best to just book a cute boutique spot, rent a car, buy some snack/groceries and then go out to a restaurant at night.

Stay here for the first couple days was pretty good. The food is decent but trying to book the restaurants is near impossible you have to book at the day before for the following day only between a small window period which doesn't really make sense it should be whatever availability is available you should be able to book for but nonetheless we navigated those waters and there's no the restaurants on Saturday or Sunday they are closed the reservation only resturants dont have a great selection of food from that theme and was medocre at best.. One of the days we weren't feeling too well so we decided to stay in and have a room service and let me tell you that it is still yet to show up. Using the app is the only way to put in these requests it's been hrs and hrs and hrs later with no response even calling the service desk they don't respond and the front office says that they can't get a hold of service so you're sitting here waiting. And the service of the staff is absolutely horrendous you see 3 or 4 bartender standing around and joking instead of actually trying to help with the guests they're not courteous at all and they don't seem to want to do their job literally I would say the entire staff here is lazy. Also first day here we used our their Dry Cleaning Services they ended up losing our dry cleaning we didn't get it back for a couple days later and missing the events that we needed to use the dry cleaning for. Auto 2 separate occasions at the pool and out at the private Beach area there were no towels. They said they couldn't so anything about it, that they are washed off site and they are out... The rooms are pretty spacious but there's almost no furniture and nowhere to really put your luggage. they have one big dresser with a safe and a normal desk and a mini fridge that has two beers in it a few waters and a few sodas no real fully stocked mini bar like they advertise. This is definitely not a five-star hotel I would say three stars at best and the services extremely lacking. For a Hilton hotel, this is a shame. I'm posting my review here so that others can make an educated decision on whether they want to stay here or not I will definitely not be coming back unless they do it overhaul of this resorts staff and service. We spent most of the time worrying about if they were going to clean the room and worrying about things not showing up losing dry cleaning not being able to schedule the restaurants, and clear lack of anything medical on sunday days. Good luck finding the things you may need here. Wasn't relaxing..was stressful. Would not recommend as a Hilton honors member. Update: never received the 2 room service orders that we made. Checkout was the easiest process. They stored our luggage and we can enjoy the amenities untill we leave. Enjoyed the private Beach for a few hours. Example of the servives issues. when we go for our drinks at the 24hr beach bar The entire bar is covered in finished drinks, cans, spills, we waited to order because the lady was cutting lemons, ok when she finally decided to service us, she scolded us for not saying buenas tardes, made our drinks, then placed them where she made them to force us to walk around the bar to pick them up. Just an example on how bad the service is here.

------ Overall review ---------- The stay at the Rif in Mangrove Beach was a very mixed bag. The hospitality levels are simply not there. But the entertainment on Friday night and the Fire Show were top notch (make sure your stay includes Friday night, or else you're missing 40% of the value). The food is aplenty - but repetitive, and tasteless half the time. The dining area staff are overwhelmed, hygiene is unsettling and about half the staff on-premises are bordering on rude (but the other half are nice, so don't admonish everyone). You need to put signs in the dining area for just the guests, who drop serving spoons and pick them up from the floor, or constantly lick their fingers while taking food on their plate. Finally, you can't have people smoking everywhere in the property, especially in the outside entertainment area. That went out in the 70s/80s. One, and done. Not coming back. ----- This is the review I started writing after I checked in ------------ Just checked in - check in was smooth, but once I checked in, I found that they never pick up the phone. I am also reading other reviews that they were greeted with a welcome drink and told what the best dining options were, - well I at least got a welcome eye contact, and an envelope with 'everything you need is in there'. I had a request to make - so I had to walk over to the desk again (which is probably half a mile from my room) to request a pair of slippers. They said they would have one sent over. 20 mins passed, and then I called guest services myself and requested one. They said they would send one right away. Another 20 mins have passed ... No slipper yet. Now even guest service not picking up....stay tuned as I update my review. ... This is next day, now - 14 hours later, and I have made two more requests at the front desk, and received their politeness but no slippers yet. Nope, and they don't pick up the phone. ... Update - finally got the slippers a day late! They did have some, but I had to talk directly to the housekeeping staff (the third one I tried, and met a nice smiling one). The front desk/whatever help line were 'ineffective' - tip for whoever is planning to stay here. Another tip - they don't automatically deliver water to the room, you have to call the front desk and ask for a 'refill of the minibar'. My advice - don't throw away the first set of empty bottles - go refill them yourself at the water station. No one's gonna pick up the phone when you're dying of thirst. They also had slippers in the convenience store at their sister property: USD 33 for men's, USD 50 for women's (Made in PRC, they said) PS - What are you trying to communicate by putting a Buddha statue by the beef dish in the dining area

We traveled Oct 16-23 5 rooms, 5 couples. Some of my feedback is for the purpose of providing knowledge if you are making a decision. |-The RIF is not adult only. The description on the swim up rooms says adult only but it only applies to that room category not the resort.|-The RIF felt like an afterthought not a resort in itself. Most things were at the neighboring Mangrove Beach. Just stay there instead and save yourself the hassle.|-There is no pool drink service. Bars are understaffed and tipping does not speed anything up as it doesn't even seem like it is appreciated.|- Dinner reservations are best made online on their app. They can only be made 1 day in advance. With a group of 10 we were never able to get anything so on day 3 we asked and they told us to put it in as 2 then type a note that 10 will be dining. |-The RIF has 1 pool, 1 coffee shop, 2 bars and a few restaurants that look like an extension of the buffet area. All other amenities are at Mangrove Beach next door.|_The RIF doesn't have music playing anywhere or an activity team to even walk through and try and get you involved in things.|-The RIF beach doesn't exist. It is a lagoon. You will go to Mangrove side to enjoy a beach. |-At the front desk one side is check-in/reception. The other side closest to the road has 3 people. 1 to get taxis, 1 to make dinner reservations and 1 to assist with other things and they shift you back and forth between them if your questions overlap in these areas.|-You will need an electric adaptor if you are traveling from the US. There is 2 USB ports and the hair dryer can be used with the European outlet. |_Italian and BBQ restaurant at Mangrove Beach were phenomenal. Food is very bland everywhere else. Take spices with you.|-There is nowhere to enjoy dining inside. If a storm comes you are going to be wet or windblown. Everything is outside. A storm blew up the night we had seafood reservations at 9 p.m. They canceled/closed without a text, call or anything. We scrambled to the buffet as it closed around the same time and got scraps of what was left as they didn't know nor did they care the seafood restaurant closed without warning. Your buffet should stay open later than your restaurants for situations like this. 6 or 9 p.m. are the 2 reservation times. |-You are serving your own drinks and getting your own cutlery at the buffet always. |-I am a travel agent and I cannot recommend the RIF to anyone consciously. I would consider Mangrove Beach since everything is there anyway. Why is there a RIF side? What is this separate designations purpose?|The plus side. |-Our room was cleaned and replenished daily. Our fellow travelers were not always replenished without asking. I left a few dollars each day. They did not. |-The male omelet maker in the buffet was fabulous and genuinely smiled and said good morning. |-Alisha was a gem waitress at the italian restaurant and we saw her at the buffet the next night. I hope she keeps up the excellent service, her brilliant smile and life takes her far. |-You may access the Beach Club next door with your key to walk through only, however, it gets you on the back side of the mangrove where the cruise ship folks get off. It is a closer road to town, straight and you will see lots of fish, jellyfish in the water on the walk. |-The waterpark was fun and not many people. |-The room AC worked wonderfully. You must have a key card in a slot to make the AC and lights work so take a spare to keep in there. ||There is so much potential if only they would communicate and step up their customer service game. I cannot believe these folks...

Just an example on how bad the...
