If you're looking for a charming location that will provide you with pretty much everything you'll need for a great Curaçao vacation with your spouse, significant other, girl/guy friends, this is the place! If I were to compare it to any other place I've stayed at before, it is very reminiscent of the boutique hotels you can stay at on Ocean Dr. in Miami Beach.
First off, the "reception" staff was pretty outstanding (a special shout out to Alice!). They were very responsive to emails prior to arriving, and once on the island, their use of What's App to keep me up to speed on general updates and such was spot on. They also provided great dinner recommendations and assisted us with tour reservations, some coming with discounts.
For the most part, the service staff is very good too. Just remember, you're on a tropical island, and the service industry doesn't always move as fast as you may experience in the States. The only downfall of this was when we needed our luggage brought down from the room at checkout, given we were in a slight rush. Yes, having the waitress come by one or two times more at the pool would've been nice, but that wasn't that big of a deal.
The pool is open to non guests as it is a pool club, so keep that in mind when planning your pool visit. That being said, it didn't feel like cabanas were off limits to us, but we did get lucky in getting pool chairs each visit. Keep in mind, there is no beach here.
Restaurant serves a tasty breakfast (we opted for it in the room and sat on our balcony, listening to the ocean waves) and some tasty drinks and desserts during the day. We didn't actually eat here for lunch or dinner as we were out and about during those times.
Parking is first come, first serve on the street. Time it right, and you can park in one of their two spots or very close by on the street. At night, you may have to park a couple blocks away, but everything is walkable, and I never felt unsafe.
All of Pietermaai, Punda and Otrobanda is walkable from here. Ended up walking 3 or 4 miles each day but you never knew it as it's all flat. If going to Fort Nassau or the beaches, you will need to drive.
We had an oceanfront room with a balcony. Awesome views, as you can see in the photos! Yes, we were above the restaurant/club, so we could hear the music at night but it honestly wasn't that loud and it got drowned out at times by the waves, which you always heard from the room too. We stayed over the weekday, so the club closed down at 11p each night. I hear it stays open later on the weekend, so keep that in mind. There are no elevators, so keep that in mind, especially if steps are not your friend. They did bring our luggage to and from the room for us, which was very appreciated. Others have mentioned issues with mosquitoes, but we didn't experience that, even when sitting on the balcony. The biggest pet peeve was the air conditioning unit has this soft white light emitting down on the bed, which does shine in your eyes once all the lights are off in the room. Didn't bother me but did bother my spouse. They have smart TVs in the room where we could login to NetFlix and Prime Video + they have standard cable TV, too.
Would I stay here with my kids, probably not. This is definitely a location catering to adults. That being said, there were people with kids during our stay, but IMO, there are better spots that are more kid friendly. Also, there did seem to be some renovations going on, but nothing that hindered us, but you could hear the jack hammering and construction of the new buildings that are going up around it, and that started around 8/830am.
Not perfect but very close! Thanks again to the staff here for making our stay wonderful...
Read moreWe just returned from a 5 night stay in Curacao at this sheik boutique hotel near Willemstad. The hotel is located about 20-30 minutes from the airport with plenty of taxi services available outside the terminal. This is a small airport so you won't get lost. Taxi rides in Curacao are very expensive ($40.00 from airport to hotel) so you may want to book a rental car during your stay. The St Tropez reception staff booked our pickup transfer from airport to hotel and then back which made it convenient.
Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the reception staff who kept us well informed about our room preparation and when it would be ready. We had arrived a bit early so this was no fault to the hotel. On that note, I wanted to mention how amazingly accommodating the staff is at the Saint Tropez. Everyone was very pleasant and seemed genuinely happy which was so nice to see. I would also be remiss if I didn't specifically mention the hotel manager, Shareline, who was so professional and accommodating to our requests and answering questions.
We booked a Junior Suite Ocean Front King room with balcony located on the third floor. The views from the floor to ceiling South facing windows / sliding glass door were absolutely breathtaking. We had a very nice sized balcony as well with an outdoor couch and a small round table and 2 chairs if you wanted to have room service. Access to rooms on the second and third floor require the use of a spiral staircase in the inner breezeway. We did not see any elevators onsite; However, this didn't concern us, but for other guests may want to know in advance.
The room was very stylishly decorated with a modern vibe, floor to ceiling windows on the ocean side wall, and a sliding glass door which made for spacious feel. Our room had a separate 2nd bedroom with a twin size bed and closet space for your belongings. The room was also equipped with a closet, safe, iron, and hair dryer. The bathroom had a small single bowl sink with very limited counter space. The walk in shower had a rain shower head as well as hand held sprayer...when wet, the floors can be slick but are manageable. There was a shower gel dispenser in the shower as well as the sink. Shampoo and conditioners are very small, so I would recommend bringing your own or asking for additional from housekeeping.
The location of this hotel is within close proximity to plenty of restaurants as well as shopping in town. There are limited sidewalks in some areas into Willemstad (8-10 minute walk); however, traffic is fairly easy to manage since the road from the hotel into town is a one way street. We felt very safe during the day as well as night walking to and from town.
The property and pool area are as beautiful in person as in any pictures we've seen with amazing ocean views. If however you are hoping to enjoy some beach lounging you'll need to either taxi (or drive) to one of the amazing beaches on the island since there is no beach access on the property. Otherwise you can make the best of the pool and comfortable lounging areas. We were so very sad that our vacation and stay at St Tropez has come to an end, but we're already starting to plan our next stay since it was...

Exuding Côte d'Azur glamour, on a breezy but warm noonday or evening, @sainttropezcuracao Ocean Club Restaurant momentarily removes you from the bustle of downtown’s life, despite being located close to the center of #punda.
Walking through the relaxed pool area, guests arrive at the restaurant and bar offering up a treat before they have even taken a sip of a refreshing cocktail or a bite of yummy food by way of gorgeous, attention-grabbing sea views. The white exterior makes the turquoise water more luminous in the background as the sun beats down to the soundtrack of the sea.
This is the setting for a menu inspired by different international flavors with a touch of Curacao, catering to guests throughout the sun-soaked days, before stretching into dusk for lazy, laissez-faire dinners.
#sainttropezcuracao offers a welcoming and cool environment to walk into. Calm and nicely decorated with simple elegance this is really one of my favorite lunch spots. I love to sit at the round table by Brigitte Bardot picture enjoying a cool breeze flowing in with a glass of Passionfruit or Bellini Mimosa in hand…the perfect thirst quencher on a hot day.
You can choose between starters, finger food and platters to share. Last time we ordered Burrata Caprese Salad, Hot Wings tossed in BBQ sauce, Chicken Quesadillas and Pincho Platter (chicken satay/beef tenderloin/shrimps) served with French Fries, washed down with a bottle of chilled AIX Rose. Some dishes are enough for sharing (we shared everything and were completely satisfied), but most options available don’t seem to reflect this style.
My personal highlight from visiting ST Ocean Club Restaurant was a seaside theme inspired platter. This dish was available on request only and only few times. It’s kind of disappointing.
RECOMMENDATION: Please put a full platter of fruits de mer on your regular menu. In my opinion, this platter would truly shine at your place. This alone could be the reason your guests (like me) would return for.
Modern vibe, stunning views, tasty food, pristine setting and cool crowd of both locals and visitors… BUT the service is just an average. There is not a lot of verbal interaction, the menu seems to have replaced the need for waiters to explain anything. It does make for quite an impersonal experience. The atmosphere is lovely though and it never felt too busy, even though pretty much all of the tables were taken.
Why wouldn’t you come here for a tasty lunch and a great day out! TIP from Saint Tropez team: Arrive before 6:45PM and enjoy an amazing sunset that drops in the...
