Bon Nochi!! Dining at Kome in Curaçao is not only a testament to culinary wizardry but also a sanctuary of heartfelt hospitality that delights beyond imagination. Throughout our evening, the ever-charismatic Server Luuk—Kome’s General Manager turned master of ceremonies for the night—instilled every moment with warmth, expertise, and an infectious devotion to guest experience.

The evening commenced with a Basil Pesto Risotto del Dia with Chicken that shimmered emerald under the soft glow of the dining room. Each plump grain of Arborio rice was swaddled in a velvety, verdant pesto—a heady infusion of sun-ripened basil, toasted pine nuts, and a whisper of sharp, crystalline Parmigiano-Reggiano. The basil’s floral perfume danced in harmony with the risotto’s silken embrace, while the chicken—moist, delicately caramelized, and brimming with savory depth—provided a robust counterpoint, its flavors melding seamlessly into the herbaceous pool. The dish unfolded on the palate like a symphony: bursting with brightness, grounded by earthy undertones, crowned by a drizzle of emerald olive oil and a scatter of microgreens.

Next arrived the legendary Truffle Mac-n-Cheese “Mac-Attack” with Smoked Beef Brisket, a decadent crescendo of comfort and luxury. Al dente macaroni luxuriated in a glossy, truffle-perfumed béchamel, every forkful enveloped in a tapestry of rich, nutty, and earthy complexity. The crowning glory: ribbons of brisket, smoked until yielding and bathed in an aromatic nectar that hinted at hickory and black pepper, scattered in generous abundance atop the noodles. Shards of crispy fried onions added a golden, crackling contrast, their caramelized edges infusing each mouthful with a sweet-savory note and playful crunch, creating a riot of texture and flavor that was nothing short of rhapsodic.

The Mahi-Mahi Fish Special was an oceanic masterpiece: the filet seared just until its crust blushed golden, yet yielding to a flaky, moist heart that sang of the sea’s freshness. Its subtle, buttery sweetness was accentuated by the vivid crunch of heirloom vegetables—tiny sugar snap peas, delicate batons of carrot, jewel-like cherry tomatoes bursting with juice—each chosen to amplify the mahi-mahi’s pristine essence. The sautéed greens, kissed by a whisper of garlic and finished with a zesty citrus note, lent a harmonious earthiness that both complemented and elevated the entire plate.

The team at Kome orchestrated a dazzling surprise for our birthday lady that can only be described as over-the-top splendid. As dessert approached, she was presented with a beautifully handwritten, personalized birthday card—a tangible token of care and creativity. A sparkling glass of Prosecco appeared as if conjured by magic, its celebratory bubbles twinkling in the mellow light.

Then, the highlight: the renowned Salty Dog dessert arrived dressed up just for her—adorned with an artful birthday flourish, and carried to the table with radiant pride. As Luuk and staff gathered, their harmonious voices rose in a heartfelt, uplifting birthday song—a performance filled with genuine joy that set the entire restaurant aglow with shared delight.

Such gestures—the obvious thought in every detail, from the bespoke card to the effervescent wine, the personalized dessert presentation to the jubilant serenade—transformed an already unforgettable meal into a memory woven with kindness and celebration. At Kome, hospitality is not just practiced; it flourishes into true artistry, where every guest is cherished and every occasion feels...

(In depth review)

My girlfriend and I like to travel often and experience different foods wherever we go. We try everything from local eateries, to street food and fine restaurants.

We were extremely pleased with KOME. We chose it based on it's high number of reviews and it's overall score of 4.7 on Google. We have to say that it has surpassed our expectations. Here is what we had and out thoughts:

We ordered a glass of white wine and I had mentioned that I liked the Spicy Cesar (virgin as well as I find the alcohol makes it a bit bitter to my liking). Since they did not have any Clamato juice, Jay-Jay, our waiter and supervisor, suggested a Bloody Mary instead. I asked for him to make it very spicy. He most certainly did a great job in what he created. It was absolutely perfect. Great suggestion on his part.

We then ordered a soup each. It was a pumpkin based soup with sour cream and other goodies in it. From the first spoon, it was really divine and well done. I would highly recommend it. We ordered the flatbread to split, and again, absolutely superb!

For the main course, we split the Pescado Del Dia (Fish of the day). The fish was spiced and cooked to perfection. The Yucca was also very well done.

All the dishes we tried were perfectly spiced. Their combination of flavours put together are exceptional!

And finally, the service was great. We were very happy with Jay-Jay (this is not how you spell his name, but how you would pronounce it). He is super friendly and very attentive.

Pricewise, you will pay a little more than a basic restaurant, but you definitely get what you pay for.

For two glasses of wine, two spicy Bloody Mary's, 2 soups, 1 flatbread and 1 main course, it came up to $90 US. I can tell you that it was VERY well worth it.

You have to go try it out. the atmosphere in the restaurant is very alive. It's a great place to go with friends or simply if you would like to just have a romantic nigh out.

Worth the 5...

We recently dined at Kome Restaurant on a Wednesday night, which happened to be their tapas night, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. Here's why:

Delicious Tapas Selection: The tapas menu at Kome is nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish we ordered was bursting with flavors, showcasing a variety of culinary influences. The small plates allowed us to sample a wide range of dishes, and we were impressed with every single one.

Quality Ingredients: You can taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. The freshness and attention to detail in the preparation of each dish were evident. Everything was amazing, but the Mushroom Toast and the Mac and Cheese with truffles were particular highlights for us!

Attentive Service: The staff at Kome were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had. The service added to the overall positive dining experience.

Ambiance: The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting. It strikes a perfect balance between modern and cozy, making it an ideal setting for a memorable meal.

Value for Money: Given the quality and quantity of food we enjoyed, we found the prices to be reasonable for the experience. The tapas concept allows you to try a variety of dishes without breaking the bank.

Reservations Recommended: It's worth noting that Kome can get quite busy, especially on tapas nights. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure you get a table.

In summary, Kome Restaurant delivered a memorable dining experience during our visit. The tapas night was a culinary adventure, and I can confidently say it was the best meal we had during our stay in Curacao. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Kome is a must-visit for food enthusiasts looking for a top-notch dining experience. We will definitely be returning on our next trip...

Came here for lunch on a Friday. The interior is really nice and hip. Modern with great art, a really nice looking bar and still cozy with its dark tables and chairs. The food was OK as far as my selection went. I think I made a mistake with the tacos, which were not very exciting, but my husband’s chicken sandwich looked great and the fried calamari appetizer was nice too! The kids loved it too! They had a nice tuna on the kids menu with mashed potatoes which was also appreciated. Drinks from the bar looked awesome as I saw on other tables. The service was OK. Started out very good but for some reason our Dutch waitress totally lost interest and did some really strange things. I accidentally knocked over my beer glas and it broke in 3 pieces. There was just 1/3 beer left so we quickly cleaned it up and as we did that she just came up and started to help cleaning, but without saying a single word or making contact. No reassuring words that “it happens” or “no worries”. She was just brooding there like a mad parent of sorts. Then she just left - she didn’t care to ask if I wanted to order something else to drink and I was sitting there with nothing for the entirety of the dinner. Very strange for a place with this “standard” I felt. In the end I started to communicate with another waitress who was a very lovely local person and was able to have another drink (despite her having to care for the whole upstairs she still made time for us with a smile). All in all a good experience, but when a waitress acts that strangely it just puts a sense of lower standard over the place and experience. And my tacos weren’t really that good unfortunately.
