Powngtong Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Den Helder

After 2 years living in Den Helder it's our first time to this restaurant. It was a busy evening when we were there but the service was quick and food arrived exactly 30 minutes as promised after order was taken. We tried only 2 dishes both were well cooked. We also ordered 3 drinks and later when asked for a glass of tap water was told they don't served that. However after explaining my health problem with cold drinks they were kind enough to give me a glass of tap water. We will return again to taste other dishes on the menu. The food was good, but we waited almost an hour for everything to arrive. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for families with young children. It didn’t feel very child-friendly — there was no sense of urgency in bringing menus or drinks quickly for the kids, and the food for the adults arrived before the kids’ meals, which made the wait even harder. While the quality of the food was fine, the service and overall experience are not well suited for families. Maybe more appropriate for adults or families with older children...

We’ve waited one and a half hours for the food whilst the restaurant wasn’t crowded. After 45min I asked how much longer it takes, waitress said the food is coming, we’re the next table to be served. However, it took another 45min and other tables were served before us obviously. So being dishonest is an absolute no-go. I would have preferred an honest answer in order to judge whether to stay or to leave…

In addition when the food came, my dish was inedible as the beef was raw inside… so they took it back… 10min later...
