Stadscafé Flow — Restaurant in Den Helder

This modern, trendy bar is an absolute must to visit. it doesn't matter if you just want a quick snack, a drink (hot or cold) or a full blown meal, this place caters for you. We did not realise that you had to order the Afternoon Tea at least 24 hours before (don't get caught out!) but the waiter saw our looks of disappointment and popped off to speak to the Chef who said that he would make it for the 3 of us but it would take a couple of hours. We said yes please and ordered an amazing burger to start and 3 hours later (yes we stayed that long!) and then, what I can only describe as a masterpiece arrived at our table. OMG the Chef had actually made the whole thing for us from scratch, that kind of service deserves a mention and the presentation was better than some of the 5* restaurants in London. Highly...

Friendly staff greeted us immediately. Drinks came quickly. Outdoor seating was plentiful, with shade from trees and umbrellas. Sunny spots are also available.

Ordered nachos. Took very long to be served. They forgot about the order. Nachos were served cold with hardened cheese. Toppings were skimpy at best. Barely any cheese, which is the point of nachos. Without the cheese, we were basically eating an overpriced bag of tortilla chips.

Handful of scallions and onions sprinkled on. Which tasted weird without the cheese.

Regular sides of guacamole, sour cream, and sweet and sour sauce (?). Don't understand the sweet and sour sauce. Interesting blend of Mexican and Asian food. Don't recommend it honestly, but that's my taste preference. When I want Mexican I want salsa, not sweet...

I've been here several times over the course of a month . It's a great cafe during the day . You are happy writing by yourself with a tea , or having a hangover food with friends. Amazing brunches ( get the lazy Sunday brunch) which also comes with fresh orange juice and fresh mint tea. Later on in the day, it's a pretty lively bar with good lounge options and delicious supper food. The wait times are minimal and there's a DJ weekend nights and maybe other nights as well.
