Loetje Eindhoven — Restaurant in Eindhoven

After being led to our table for four, (well kind of, we were led through the restaurant and then pointed to the correct table before we actually got there) we noticed we only had three chairs at a table set for four. As our host had already left us we took it to ourselves to organise an extra chair. Effectively shifting the problem to the next guests to arrive, who then had the exact same issue. Nevertheless we were quickly served our drinks and the 1 page cheap looking plastified A4 sheet menu. Burrata for me and carpaccio for the rest. The Burrata was really nice with fresh tomatoes, bread and very tasty pesto. The carpaccio was served with toast and butter but no butter knives, no quite sure what the idea was there. Cutlery did seem to be a bit of an issue as the staff kept dropping cutlery from the serving station near our table all evening. Sometimes it was picked up, sometimes just kicked away back to the serving station. Sadly none reappeared at our table in time for the main course. We all ordered steak, which of course did not disappoint as it is their main dish. Normal, XL and 'van der waard' versions all cooked to perfection. My desert order was never understood (it was quite noisy) or not registered correctly but the serving staff dashed off before I could ask. In the end my Sticky Toffee was pretty misable as it turned out anyway.

The whole experience was rather impersonal and the restaurant was quite warm (only wearing a tshirt) but the food was good. If you're looking for a quick high quality meal out but don't mind the motorway restaurant experience this is an excellent place. Looking for a nice evening out... There are better steakhouses in the center of Eindhoven.

Oh yeah, being an Amsterdam chain you get Heineken and their, in my opinion, rather uninteresting other brands (like Moretti, Affligem, Sol,...

Loetje offers a cozy environment with a creative menu which will cater to everyone’s taste. The meals flavours and the service however are lacking which makes the overall dining experience mediocre.

The menu offers a range of dishes with all sorts of influences. Starters like soup, carpaccio and salads but also asian cuisine influenced meals like smoked salmon are available. Main courses like fish, poke bowl, burgers, a range of steaks (including a vegan one!) and much more. And the drinks and deserts menus are even better. The problem with Loetje clearly doesn’t lie in it’s menu.

The flavour pallete of some of the meals however is clearly not well thought out. Some examples: The smoked salmon for example is a very creative dish, but the sheer volume and ingredients make it a boring experience which lsts too long. Another example is the burger which is very basic, has little to no flavor and the total unit is too thick to bite into without everything sliding out of place. This is mainly caused by the patty which is too thick. Not to mention the high volume of onion rings which are added.

Service is hard to review and can definitely just be ‘one unlucky visit’. However, the seemingly unorganized distribution of areas in the restaurant and potentially the high volume, make for a chaotic and unsatisfying service. Waiters who are slow to check for drinks, who offer to bring dessert menus which takes 10 minutes to arrive and the sheer lack of personal contact in some occasions (still talking while already turning away to leave) are not great to say the least.

Loetje has a lot of potential but the menu needs refinement and perhaps throughout should be lower to allow for...

We had a pleasant dining experience at Loetje Eindhoven. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly their signature gravy steak—flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with the rich sauce. Each of us tried something different from the menu, and it was fun to compare and share our dishes.

While the prices are slightly above average, the quality of the food and the satisfying flavors made it feel like good value for a special treat. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the service was friendly, although it could have been a bit quicker during peak hours.

Overall, we were happy with the experience and would recommend Loetje to anyone looking for a tasty steak dinner. A solid...
