Overall all it was ok! I had a mixed experience, resulting in a 3-star rating. I went specifically for a Turkish coffee and kunafeh, and while there were some positive aspects, there were also notable areas for improvement.
Starting with the coffee, I must say that the taste was good, albeit not as satisfying as I had hoped. The flavor lacked the richness and depth that I typically associate with a well-prepared Turkish coffee. Although enjoyable, it didn't leave a lasting impression or meet my expectations for a truly exceptional cup of coffee.
Moving on to the kunafeh, unfortunately, I encountered some issues. Firstly, the kunafeh arrived very late, which was an inconvenience. However, the real disappointment was the quality of the dessert itself. It was evident that the kunafeh was not cooked well—it lacked the desired crispiness and the perfect balance of sweetness. This was surprising to me, as Mado is known for maintaining a higher level of quality. Perhaps there was an issue during my visit that affected the preparation.
Another aspect worth noting is the price of the kunafeh, which I found to be quite high. Considering the quality issues I experienced, the higher price tag for the dessert felt a bit unjustified. It would be beneficial for Mado to reassess the pricing in relation to the overall experience and ensure that customers feel they are getting good value for their money.
On a positive note, I found the personnel at Mado to be friendly and very helpful. Their attentiveness added to the overall experience, making the visit more enjoyable. Additionally, the atmosphere of the place was pleasant, creating a welcoming ambiance for customers. The location near Wonselse Market is also convenient, further enhancing the appeal of Mado.
In conclusion, while my visit to Mado had its ups and downs, there is potential for improvement. Enhancing the coffee's richness and addressing the quality and timing issues with the kunafeh would greatly elevate the dining experience. Additionally, reassessing the pricing in relation to the overall quality is recommended. With these improvements, Mado has the potential to provide a more satisfying and consistent experience for...
Read moreNew version: I am updating my evaluation with latest developments. Yesterday, I visited there for breakfast again and found out that they reversed the buffet order. It is very smooth now and I am really happy for them to get these feedbacks and made the corrections. It is an amazing breakfast! Thanks for the delicious buffet and smooth service. I will keep going there and bring friends to taste this place!
Old version: I really would like to make my comment sharp to give the message. If I made my comment 2 weeks ago, you would only see 5-star. I am making this comment while having my breakfast inside which really surprised me today. For lastt 1 hour, I am watching the buffet line which is endless. Why? Because new manager appointed to Eindhoven branch and decided to be a leader by changing 5 buffet sectors into 2. I can understand how a new manager wants to make a change and prove him/herself but why you seek a change to worse and worse while operating very well? What is the point for that? You look for lean order but you fully miss the point of operability and useability. People have to wait a lot in line to get breakfast. Staff had to wait a lot around to renew the stuff on the buffet. Your action resulted in a true chaos which makes your service worse because buffet can not be renewed timely. I have also claimed this stupid change to Mado management and I will not stop until this change reversed. This is the only place where we could access a good Turkish breakfast in Eindhoven and I will not let you...
Read moreMado is mainly known for its good quality ice cream made from goat milk. They have this “cafe&restaurant” place where they have everything but specialized in nothing. The ice cream: forget about goat milk it is not even a proper ice cream that you can buy from any shop/ supermarket. You can immediately tell it’s full of food coloring. Also has a lot of “modern” taste mixes like Oreo etc.. So pretty sad and disappointing. Food : I have not tried much but the open buffet was much better before than now. Lower quality, less varieties. Desserts: Similar story like food. I ordered cold baklava and the syrup, the milk or cream they used, the pistachios, the crunchiness none of them were even OK. All below average. Overall: I think weather they should decide to specialize in 1 thing and do it to the good standards or they can’t continue like that. The whole Kruisstraat is full of these options for the half of the price. For now ambiance and atmosphere keeps it going but I don’t think it’s a good...
