It's a great place for Chinese food, Like Actual Chinese food, Like not I'm Dutch but specialize in making pretend Chinese food... No, No, No, No my friend... It's very different from your Ordinary restaurant, I definitely recommend coming with a group as when you got your food you're basically all alone, Maybe it was because I was with a friend, But didn't see the staff move an inch for anyone except when being called or when you have yet to order you meal... Which is different, No can I get you anything, No nothing... But not a bad thing persé. The food was good, My friend ordered some things for me to try, I tell ya now, I don't think I would like the taste of any of the things had I made it myself, But it was actually really good, Really different (You're starting to see a theme here...) but not bad. It's the feeling you get when you don't recognize a taste, Your body reacts out of uncertainty and makes you feel unsure if you do or don't like it... But kept on trying and trying and the more I ate the easier it became in my stomach and in the end really liked it. The food is fine for as far as I can tell, If they made the experimental things good I don't believe I have to doubt the rest of the menu card. Maybe my biased opinion, But I digress...
On a completely different note, The tea is amazing, (It's a silly dream of mine to try as many foreign teas as I can) So would go back even for something as simple as such. Doubt this'll turn the tide, But Definitely worth mentioning even if just for that one...
Read moreTHE most authentic and best Chinese I've had in the Netherlands outside of Amsterdam's Chinatown. A lovely meal served by lovely staff for my last evening in the Netherlands until my next visit.
Although I was with my daughter and her partner who speak fluent Dutch, the menus were well presented with photos of each of the dishes, and description in both Chinese and Dutch. So as an English person I could easily understand what was available for me to choose. The staff were very friendly and a couple of staff spoke English. Chinese is my favourite cuisine, and I have eaten it recently in Singapore and Malaysia, and I think it is fair to say that was one of the nicest crispy pork, and roast duck I've had in a very long time. The seafood on crispy noodles was also incredibly tasty and plentiful with prawns and squid. A few dim sum dishes were also ordered, and equally as tasty as the rest of the meal. Portions were of a very good size. Well worth a visit if anyone is in the vicinity. A steady flow of customers, from couples to...
Read moreFood has become mediocre. The cha sieuw is somewhat okay but the others has pooling oil in it. Prices not as affordable as before. Quality is somewhat slipping away. The cold and harsh attitude seems to be the number one marketing for this restaurant. Maybe it’s culture or personality but it’s definitely effective on repelling customers. Had been taking time off to eat here since unpleasant experience the last time. Figured try the takeaway. Maybe it won’t be as bad as the last time. But, actually there’s no place to sit for takeaway. When one chose to stand, they will push us to sit down on one of the tables, many times. Once we sat, comes customers and the waiter asked to move to other table without saying sorry. And comes other customers, again they shoved us away like we’re someone who sat there without paying. No sorry, no words just asked new customers to sit on our place, like we’re invincible. There were more than 4 other tables that were empty at the time. It’s fixed, there’s no point on...
