Steakhouse El Gaucho — Restaurant in Enschede

I used to think El Gaucho was one of the best restaurants in Eschede. one evening changed everything, unfortunately..

We made reservation for 6ppl over the phone nobody mentioned how long we could stay. We barely finished dinner and desperately waited for someone to offer us dessert and refill our drinks,but instead we were asked to pay and leave! owner claimed that it was agreed that time to stay is limited (NO it was not, at all). We were complelety shocked .

We asked politely if we may have dessert and coffee, so they said not so willingly OK,lets do it. After we got dessert menu cards we were COMPLETELY neglected for 15min. Staff looked the other way and ignored us.

We stood up eventually , paid and left, with huge disappointment. Unfortunately no apology was offered at the end.

We noticed there were people waiting for table and it seemed like they were good friends of the owner, so that would seem to be reason why they chased us away like this. So unprofessional!!

I have never been treated like this in ANY restaurant and I have been to thousands!

See you never again…. Unfortunately , as the food remains really good , I must honestly admit.

Been there twice before and everything was perfect, that is why my disappointment is double if not triple.

Based on the reviews, I decided to eat at this restaurant. I wasn't disappointed. Right from the moment I entered, I felt that this choice was a bull's-eye. The atmosphere inside the place is amazing. The service is perfect, the waiters really do a great job there. The decor and cleanliness of the toilet are at the highest level.

As for the food, it was pure poetry. The steaks were exactly as done as I wanted them to be. Delicate, melted in your mouth and the taste was simply perfect. There was a wonderful note of rosemary in them. The ribs were very tasty and fell off the bone without any problems. Plus delicious fries and a very good salad. I am convinced that I will visit this restaurant again and again. To drink, freshly brewed mint and mohito. Both positions felt fresh and natural, no chemicals.

Something beautiful, I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone who wants to eat truly delicious food, in a perfect place, with great service. Thank you Steakhouse...

Nicely decorated restaurant. Quite busy during dinner time. Attentive friendly staff. Got their special of the day: Varkenhaas met brie en walnoten. The pork tenderloin was juicy and tender however they added honey all on the bottom of the plate that I did not expect because it wasnt mentioned on the description. It was a bit overpowering, making the dinner dish lean more towards the sweet side. Wasn't a fan. Other than that the rest of the meal and side dishes were okay. My bf got the steak that looked good. Got a taste of it. It was fine. But was missing... finesse. It was plated on its own. No butter on the side, no herbs for appeal. Maybe Ill give this place another try...
