Willemientje — Restaurant in Enschede

Burger : Smokey beast + extra Pommes This is the 3. times we have come here to eat. But 3 times we got different burger buns and we always ordered the same. So the first time was a brioche bun, that was sooooo gutttt and the sauce + meat was TOP!! The 2. time was a little disappointing.. they changed the bun, like white bread bun (?), well it was dry. The sauce wasn't spiced.. but meat was good! The 3. time (photo under) was ok... Bun was also a different one. But it tasted better than the white one. Sweet potato fries weren't long enough in the fryer, but still good enough. Well the new summer drink wasn't fair with the price. "Passion & Pineapple lemonade" just feel like from bottle and Pineapple was from frozen fruit... 5,25€ i was expecting more.. and the glass is also small, like 100ml + ice. Sad...

Had lunch at Willemientje today. Plenty of free tables, nevertheless the owner's face was quite telling when we came in with a toddler in a stroller.

The food was ok, portions could have been bigger, but reasonable priced. It was a bit irritating that there weren't any prices in the german menu, had to fetch the dutch menu to find out.

Beverages were small and rather pricey.

Excellent dessert, a brownie with sticky caramel sauce.

The staff was really friendly and quick, the owner though seemed rather annoyed by customers and strangers alike. A mother with a small kid asked if they could use the toilet. The child looked as if it was quite pressing but the owner couldn't be bothered and told them off. Of course she has her own principles but, combined with her rather unfriendly presence, it leaves...

Visited 7 years ago and was not impressed. Been here twice in the last two weeks and have to say I was really impressed. Order the chicken burger with egg first visit and also the smokey burger on the second visit. Both were excellent, made with love and care, the staff are extremely polite and friendly, the price is value for money without a doubt and overall both occasions were a pleasant experience. Definitely a regular eating place whenever I visit Enschede from now on. Highly...
