Pizza Service — Restaurant in Flushing

This was my first time in Vlissingen and also my first time in this restaurant. I was recommended to go there, because I was told these are the best Pizzas, not only in this town but also in general. I have to say, I was not dissapointed. The owner of the restaurant was working there alone and though we were not the only guests there, the three Pizzas were brought to our table within 12 minutes. I was overwhelmed how fast they were made. I choosed the ingredients for my Pizza by my own. For me the important things in a Pizza are soft dough with fresh ingredients and an dough to toppings ratio of 65 to 35. Though I took my Pizza without cheese the Pizza was perfectly done and as far as I saw same goes for Pizza with cheese. The Pizza was just perfect and the best one I have ever eaten.

The ambient was perfect as well. It is a small restaurant with slim stairs leading to the tables. Everything decorated with many small details. The yellow painted walls made the athmosphere warm and cozy and I could not have felt better. The complete place was hygenic and there was nothing I could have complained about.

The service was very friendly and quick. The owner of the place brought us drinks and our food and had long wonderful conversations with us. Running this place since 30 years, he remembers a lot of guests even if they are coming once or twice a year. Always with a little joke on his lips this man was really nice and made the stay perfect.

I recommend everyone visiting vlissingen to visit his small restaurant and try out the amazing food. You will not regret it. And to the owner himself: Thank you very much for making the stay so wonderful and welcoming.

----------------------(german)-------------------- Mit meinem ersten Besuch in Vlissingen, wurde mir geraten umbeding mal dieses kleine Restaurant auszuprobieren, da es die besten Pizzen überhaupt habe. Ich wollte mir die Gelegenheit nicht entgehen lassen und nahm sie war. Ich wurde in keinster Weise enttäuscht. Zu dritt besuchten wir diese Lokalität und bestellten 3 Pizzen (davon 2 ohne Käse). Obwohl der Wirt den Laden alleine leitete und wir zu beginn nicht die einzigen Gäste waren, Bekamen wir bereits nach 12 Minuten unser Essen serviert. Ich hatte mir selber eine Pizza zusammengestellt. Für mich kommt es bei einer Pizza auf wenige aber für mich wichtige Dinge an. Für mich muss eine Pizza einen lockeren fluffigen Teig haben, der mit frischen Zutaten belegt ist und einen Teig zu Zutaten Verhältnis von 65 zu 35 hat. Meine Erwartungen wurden nicht enttäuscht und ich kann einfach nur sagen, dass es die beste Pizza ist, die ich in meinem bisherigen Leben gegessen habe. Perfekt gebacken und genau richtig zusammen gestellt. Auch die mit Käse servierte Pizza war einfach genau richtig durch gebacken.

Das Ambiente war unglaublich liebevoll hergezaubert. Das in gelb gestrichene Restaurant war ausgestattet mit vielen kleinen Details, die einem erlaubten sich nie satt zu sehen und immer was Neues zu entdecken. Auch über die hygienischen Zustände kann man sich nicht beklagen.

Der Ladenbesitzer, der gleichzeitig auch noch der Koch und Ober war, war unglaublich herzlich und freundlich, hatte immer einen kleinen Scherz auf den Lippen und gab einem ein sehr familiäres Gefühl. Seit 30 Jahren leitet dieser Herr nun dieses Restaurant und freut sich immer riesig geste wieder zu sehen.

Jedem, der Vlissingen besucht, kann ich nur einen Besuch von dieser kleinen, süßen Pizzaria empfehlen. Man wird herzlich empfangen, schnell bedient und darf die wohl besten Pizzen probieren, die es gibt. Meine Erwartungen wurden in keinsterweise enttäuscht. Eine kleine Nachricht an den Chef: Vielen lieben Dank, dass sie uns so herzlich in ihrem kleinen Restaurant begrüßt haben und uns den Aufenthalt so unvergesslich gemacht haben. Funny to read the reviews here, I actually think this is one of the best pizzas I've had since I moved to Europe a few years ago. If you're expecting a thin crust pizza with blobs of mozzarella over tomato sauce, of course you will be disappointed. You can get that type at any generic Italian restaurant or sometimes at a döner kebab joint. The pizza from Pizza Service (you can find other pictures with some of the other reviews), features the ingredients and sauce underneath the cheese, which crisps on top over it. I found it really tasty and a welcome departure from the usually paper-thin, tabletop-sized pizzas we find all over Germany.

For the service, yeah, I mean, he's not trying to be your best friend. He just wants you to tell him what you want to drink and eat. Not a chatty guy, so just be happy if he cracks a smile at you and...

The quality of the pizza was very good, but the behaviour of the waiter/owner was terrible. We kindly asked for information about the drinks (as the details in the menu were misleading) and he replied extremelly impolite. Besides, at first they said there was no room for us in the restaurant, they told us to wait for a spot outside. After insisting they let us sit upstairs and then we realized that they were not so happy with going upstairs only for us. I hope this helps them setting their priorities in order,...
