I went there to meet friends to have a drink on Saturday 16/3. I had my beer and after a while, my boyfriend came to join us. The waiter (with long blonde hair) came to take his order but instead refused to serve him because he accused him of being drunk already (which he was not!). He said that the place does not welcome people with his vibe. My boyfriend stood up and left and I went after him. I came back after a few minutes and asked the waiter why he thought my boyfriend was drunk. He said that he saw him when he came in and sat at our table, making a joke about the table being a door with a loud voice (although, no one around was bothered) and apparently, assumed he was drunk! He did not apologize or offer a more logical explanation or anything. Ridiculous.
So, be careful if your sense of humor is not to the liking of the waiter, you might not be served!
ps. We had our first date there and have since visited many times since it was one of our favorite bars and very special in our hearts. Well,...
Read moreThis is my favourite study and hangout spot in Groningen!! The staff is super friendly (and cute), they are extremely dog friendly - my dogs actually see this as a second home. If you want to grab a drink in the evening, need a thing to eat during the day, need to study or chill - this is the right place. My recommendations: espresso tonic or sir Edmond gin with clementine tonic, fries with sriracha mayo, whiskey sour (if it’s on the menu - they change it up), or any of the draft beers. If you want something special ask for the...
Read moreHad a social dinner with my summer school group here. Their mojito was refreshing and well put together. The flatbread pizza was enjoyable to eat, very light and crispy with great flavors. The tortilla dish with pieces of beef, carrot, chilly and corriander tasted lovely together. The dessert apple terrine with kulfi was such an indulgence. I find the cold noodle with watermelon quite bizarre but it somehow made sense a little. The table with square holes was not very functional but we worked it out. We...
