I can't make my mind up about Mout; on one hand, the food is amazing and it's nice to have a restaurant where everyone can find food they enjoy. Whether you're vegetarian, a lover of Asian food, or more into spicy meats, there'll be something on the menu to enjoy which is great especially when you're with a bigger group. But the service is just horrendous, and makes the experience of going to Mout almost dreadful. It feels like the staff doesn't really care much or is massively overworked; it legit feels like they're purposefully trying to avoid eye contact with you when you want to order or pay your bill. And this isn't just when it's busy, the service is the same no matter how many people are seated in the restaurant. I really feel like Mout would benefit greatly from having a QR code system, so that people can actually get food and drinks, and order more. Usually, we have a snack here and just have drinks somewhere else, just because we can't be arsed waiting an hour between each drink. Seems like a loss of business to me!
I've been going to Mout since the day it opened, and I have been there numerous times since then, so my experience isn't an isolated incident, it's something that I've noticed here time and time again and is truly just such a shame, because the food...
Read moreHonestly this model should be stolen and taken to every corner of the world. Picture you're inside a retired train station type building. There is a beautiful polished brewing set up in the back and a spacious bar with 10 taps in the middle. Large wooden picnic tables line the open space in the middle leaking outside through the gigantic carriage doors to plentiful outdoor seating. Along the interior walls are 9 restaurant "stalls" by my count... Bar food, Indian, dim sum, Vietnamese, Italian, Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican, fish and chip shop and then a "power bowl" shop (as of my visiting second time in two days) the institution deals with drinks, running dishes, flatware/chopsticks and customer relations at large. The individual stalls get a notification on their point of sale and then the servers run the food to your table. You could have tandoori chicken and soup dumplings and finish with churros. It's like my trashy mall food fantasy but it's like an American microbrew location (very relaxed and inviting to families). I love this place. You should drop by, even just to have a beer. It is the greatest model I've ever enjoyed as a dad with two young girls (who aren't with me at the moment) but this would be an every week visit if...
Read moreI seriously come to Mout since it’s opened. I hosted work events there, and I’ve been there since the beginning. Tonight, I didn’t finish my bottle of wine and wanted to take it home. The new employees gave me a big mouth and a bad attitude about how I can’t take my own bottle home, especially the tall dude behind the bar. Despite me showing them law articles about being allowed to take your unfinished bottle of wine home in Europe and everything, I was treated like garbage. Their way of treating me was nothing short of despising. I said I’d pay for just 2 glasses then, since the bottle was half empty. They agreed. Note: I took the bottle to the toilets with me. They saw it. They are aware I could have done anything to it. They didn’t care and just wanted to follow their own protocol. So now you know: if you order wine at Mout, make sure you order a full bottle (it’s cheaper anyway) and make sure they open it in front of you. Everything else: you don’t know where it comes from, or what’s happened to it (in this case: I drank directly from the bottle for a social media video). I was a very very loyal customer…. Now I’m gutted to have been treated that way. There are other places where...
