Dax Gastrobar — Restaurant in Leeuwarden

Really delicious food. I think it is actually the best fries I’ve ever had in my entire life. Definitely worth a try!

Restaurant is small but cosy.

There is one big “but” though: We could trough our entire visit, watch both of the waiters every time they prepared anything to drink with ice cubes, grab them out of the bucket with their bare hands and put them in the glass! NO washing hands first or anything. Likewise straight after the ice, bare hands into the bowl with lemon slices and into the glass. After that handeling all bottles and menus and everything- and then the next order of drinks with bare hands - no washing at all!! To be honest we personally find that very gross!!

But other than that- everything...

Dax Gastrobar is a lovely place to dine out. We were staying in Leeuwarden for 2 nights in September 2022 and spent one of the evenings eating out here. The food was wonderful, cooked well but also as a recipe put together really well. The selection of drinks was great and the total atmosphere and ambiance of the place was delightful. Although 2 days is enough to see in Leeuwarden what there is to see ... but we will definitely come back to eat here again when we are in...

One of the BEST restaurants in town. Very affordable prices, delicious food. I recommend to get the Dax menu which consists of soup main course and the best part is you can pick your dessert only for 17,50€.
