Cafe De Afzakkerij — Restaurant in Meierijstad

Worst coffee in a very, very long time. Asked for a flat white, and got something that looked and tasted as "machine" cappuccino (in its worst meaning). Foam was full of big bubbles, floating on top of the coffee, resembling bath foam. And the coffee... Undrinkable! And either the staff knows it's bad, and/or don't care, since when paying (at the table) the coffee was still there, almost untouched, and the waiter didn't bother asking why. Nice location, but try some of the other...

This cafe was chosen at random, about half way on a long journey. I was expecting a greasy-spoon cafe, possibly shut on December 28th. However, it was a spectacular find we will go back to. A huge, industrial building converted into a mall of cafes and art spaces. De Afzakkerij was just the first cafe in the complex, but the service was good and the food typically Dutch (tostie) and done...

Niet om het een of ander maar als je in Veghel komt en je bent een beetje opzoek naar cultuur, een drankje en een leuke sfeer is dit echt het café waar je naar toe moet gaan. Ten eerste is de locatie van het lunch café alleen al top. Het is namelijk gevestigd in de oude koeksfabtiek van Veghel, op de plaats waar alle dierenvoederkoeken in de zak werden gedaan, zodoende de naam Afzakkerij, wat op zichzelf al een mooi zicht biedt. Daarnaast is er enorm veel te doen rondom het café heen, het heet namelijk niet voor niets het culturele centrum van Veghel. En daarbij is het personeel dat er werkt ook altijd echt super aardig en behulpzaam waarbij je al je vragen kwijt kunt over zaken die over bijna heel het gebouw gaan. Verder zijn er ook vaak enorm veel diverse activiteiten te doen of heel veel zalen te huur die voor allerlei evenementen gebruikt kunnen worden.
