La Stancia Veghel — Restaurant in Meierijstad

It was our first time travelling from London to Holland, and the village is beautiful with incredible, lovely people and clean roads, beautiful property.

However, we decided to eat out, and we didn't know that all restaurant kitchen closed around 21 to 21:30, but bars remain open in Vegel until late.

After trying to make a reservation and driving around to restaurants but no luck, only the restaurant above kept his kitchen open for us a little long although they were about to close too. We were welcomed with open arms to come to have a seat to try their famous ribs restaurant despite all other restaurants have closed their kitchen early, which we weren't aware at the time.

We were delighted and satisfied with the service; the owner and his staff were amiable. Which encourage us to bring more visitors upon our next visit and the same quality of service was delivered on the night.

The staff cater to our needs throughout the evening; the type of service you don't see much in London. The ribs were delicious, and it was a perfect portion cooked with perfection, the meat was falling off the bone and melting in your mouth. For vegan, the salad was delicious, and the dressing was finger linking.

Food was absolutely bland. We ordered ribeye and quail, both steamed instead grilled, undercooked, exact same sides for both dishes. At the end it does not matter what you order, tastes same, or doesn't taste at all. Fries ok, portions also quite big. Delivery took longer than indicted, but food came warm. Bottom line, better buy fries...

Heerlijk gegeten bij La Stancia. Flink stuk vlees en heerlijk klaargemaakt met verstopte groente eronder (steak was dus groot genoeg), een bolletje aardappelpuree, frietjes en een kleine salade (waarbij bij de salade gevraagd wordt of je deze echt wil, want veel mensen laten deze staan - duurzaamheid!). Vier sausjes komen er nog bij.... Heel rustig binnen (wel lekker na een drukke werkdag), maar terrasje zat vol. Bediening vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Had pas een verkeerde bestelling, maar die werd, ondanks dat ik het zonde van het vlees vond, toch omgeruild, want ze hadden het veel liever, dat ik tevreden naar huis ging. Alleen daarom zou je toch al tevreden naar huis gaan. Op menukaart staan de prijzen van het eten, maar op de bier- en friskaart niet. Fles Spa 0.75 €6,90, flesje Affligem €3,90, dus goed te doen.
