"India Gate" Tandoori Indian Restaurant 🇮🇳 — Restaurant in Nijmegen

1st time went there with family and went great since we ordered “big” menu as this restaurant were expected. Went there for the 2nd time with friends, and my friends just wanted to experience Indian food with a starter, and suddenly the waitress became very disappointed and forced us to order “big” menu. My friends asked several menus since they’re not familiar with Indian dishes but the waitress got very annoyed by the questions instead of explaining. After we ordered the starters, one of the waitress came to us and told us to order more food in a very pushy way! We left right away! What a nightmare experience! Very rude!! Terrible place not even deserv 1 star, it’s a minus! Better go somewhere else, seriously!! Never again!

Look at their answer, anti criticism and called fake review instead. It’s explains a lot how you’ll get treated in this restaurant. Avoid at all cost. I guess all of the 5 stars comment they made...

Went there for dinner a few nights ago. Very over rated. The deco was kitch and frankly shabby. Much too expensive for what we ate. I reckon, so far as ingredients go, there musr have been 3 chicken breasts, a handful of mushrooms, a handful of lentilles & 2 handfuls of rice. On top we had 2 orange juices, 1 beer & a coffee, all for the pricely sum of 69 euros. The "cherry on the cake " effect was that I had an upset stomach for 2 days. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist inakzeptabel. Wir hatten das Gericht "Royal Tandoori Grill" für € 26,95 bestellt. Bei einem solchen Namen und Preis hatten wir nicht erwartet, derartig spartanisch abgespeist zu werden. Es gab ein paar trockene Fleischstücke, die mit roter Tandoorisauce gefärbt waren. Keine zusätzliche Sauce, der Reis oder das Brot musste also trocken gegessen werden. Die Rajita hatte wir als extra Beilage bestellt, serviert wurde ein winziges Schälchen mit ca. 3 Eßlöffeln davon. Das Glas Weißwein war nicht richtig gekühlt und der Inhalt war unter 0,2 Liter. Alles in Allem eine Enttäuschung und Abzocke. Mit indischem Essen hatte das Ganze nichts zu tun.
