I spent a Sunday and Monday night there; paid by my host (the university). Great choice on their part. ||The room was well appointed except for the somewhat small safe which would not accommodate my laptop. That said, the place is quite safe (access to the guest rooms via elevator that requires guest access card), so I just left it in the open. There's a coffee machine in the room and you can get extra capsules from the front-desk if need be. ||Toilet and shower are separate but, yes, as JapanGirl has mentioned, if you are not alone, you need to feel quite comfortable with your partner ...||Wifi is stable and pretty fast, also on the ground floor/brekkie area, tv has some English language channels.||Brekkie is fabulous and plenty. The ground floor is separated in about half a dozen areas and you can have brekkie in an ambiance of your choice. I had a colleague over for an hour to discuss one of her projects and ordered a cappuccino for her. When I wanted to pay for it, I was told that was fine.||Everyone on the staff is super-nice and helpful. Good vibes. | |Really quite...
Read moreWe booked the High Tea but we were extremely disappointed with it. It cost €58 for 2ppl and the food was not fresh. We expected home made food but it was 90% dry small cakes, one made of dough with custard in it. The savoury was a bought-in hard pale pastry case and plain prawns. I felt quite nauseous with just sweet cakes as this was supposed to be a late lunch. We mentioned this to the staff and 4 weeks later (after investigation with the chef) we were told the food is made with love. And due to the economic climate, more people are asking for their money back. Well… what can you say to that. I think they use the same marketing greenwashing ‘made with love’ as do Hema, who also admit to buying their food in. If a chef can’t make their own pastry or a scone for an expensive High Tea…. we will not...

The Reception staff was friendly and welcoming (even wished me a happy birthday which was 5 days before...). The room was perfect, from cleanliness to equipment to size. The burger in the middle of the afternoon in the patio was delicious. |4 days later when being home, I noticed a discrepancy on the final price of my invoice; I contacted the Hotel and got a prompt and very professional answer within the next hour...and it was sorted. |I travel a lot and this was one of the best places I have stayed at in a long time...Should I go back to Nijmegen for any reason, I would book a room there again in...
