Wandered in to use the washroom but ended up in a gripping conversation with Willem, he made our visit worth a million stars. The info video is fantastic, the 3D effect is captivating. The wall graphics are super fun and interactive, and along with our guides story telling I was able to get a comprehensive overview of the timeline of events. Visiting this museum after the bunker in the park was the perfect way to solidify and grasp the situation. The video & information are presented with Dutch, English and German subtitles.

Het Wo2 centrum is gewijd aan het " vergis" bombardement op de Nijmeegse binnenstad. Na een korte introductie volgde een film met uitleg over de aanloop en de verwoesting met volop de knallen die daarmee gepaard gingen. Angstaanjagend, zeker voor de Oekraiense vluchtelingen. Daarna kregen we inzicht in de zoektocht van een jongen die zijn hele familie kwijt was. Met nu twee oorlogen in de wereld betreur je ten zeerste dat het voornemen van toen: "dit nooit meer" helaas gestrand is. Kort maar krachtig, bij meer tijd kan een bezoek aan het Vrijheidsmuseum in Berg en Dal/Groesbeek worden aanbevolen. De uirleg van de gids, langzaam en duidelijk, is goed te verstaan. Voor mobiel gehandicapten is er een bel rechts van de trappen, als je belt komt iemand naar buiten om met je mee.te lopen naar de hellingbaan links...
