Let's begin with the positivity stuff. I enjoyed my cosmopolitan, very fresh and delicious! The sweet potato fries were crunchy and declines but a very small serve for the price point. I was so disappointed by the rather slow service and lack of English menus. It took me a long while to manually translate every item on the menu to know what I was ordering. I ordered the grilled aubergine which could have equated to maybe 2-3 thin SLICES of aubergine with a dash, (which is a generous word to describe it) amount of sauce and garnishes to make it look pretty im assuming. For a miniature portion of aubergine I paid a shocking 11 EURO? I left feeling more hungry than we came in. To add on top of my disappointing experience they do not accept Visa cards. The Netherlands is part of the EU and the only country where I keep experiencing this mess. Please fix it. It's a pity because the bar is located at a very pretty street in Nijmegen, the interior is stunning but maybe take some of the budget for the flowers inside and use it for a machine that accepts visas and print some...
Read moreLovely place for brunch/lunch. Plenty of options (food and drink-wise) on the menu that look delicious. I would say the food is quite average in terms of flavour but the presentation of the food was beautifully done. The ribeye flammkuchen was nice and looked delicious with all the different ingredients places on it (e.g., some raspberries) but it took away from the main ingredient which was the ribeye. It was still a very nice dish but not as special as it looked. We also had the risottoballs and in my head I thought it was going to be like arancini but the risotto in the balls was just a ragout/paste of rice and so had no texture unfortunately. The dish was partially saved due to the truffel mayo but it's not something I would recommend necessarily. The bruschetta was really nice, although I would've left out the avocado spread dollops.
Overall, the place/interieur is beautiful and very cosy too. Very friendly staff...
Read moreDrinks, atmosphere and service were great. Th servers can speak English if necessary.
The food was not good at all. The so called okonomiyaki was literally just okonomiyaki batter and toppings. There was no octopus, shrimp or even cabbage! The Korean fried chicken doesn't even have gochujang sauce. It was more like a sweet and sour sauce. I'm not sure what was Korean about it besides the garnish that was pickled veg. The fried dumplings were ok but €8.50 for 4 pieces is not worth it at all. The sweet potato fries was the only thing I would order again.
I would only come here for drinks and the atmosphere. Never...
