Bhalu is a great place to hang out with friends or to spend time by yourself. To do absolutely nothing and stare with a cup of tea, but also to focus on your work and meet new people (if you feel social). If you feel you're having a non-social day but you still want to be surrounded by friendly, kind people, (and not sit all by yourself in your apartment all day) that's also possible. The staff is warm, playful and it made me feel at home in an instant. Even in my most chaotic moods, they were there for me for a little chat. (And they remember your name, which is also a big plus for me when I come somewhere often.) What's also GREAT is that they give you a FULL BOTTLE of water before you order anything from the delicious menu. The music is mellow, smooth, hiphop beats, jazzy, just the way I like it. Favorite place in Nijmegen thus far. At first I was afraid it would be a little bit too hipster, but it's not. At all. Everybody's welcome here. Young, old, yogapants, hipster beard, meat eaters, vegans, artists, musicians, writers, self development chicks and...

It seems that this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a cafe. I ordered a tofu scramble sandwich and received a hot dog bun with raw, sweet tofu and two stalks of asparagus inside. The asparagus was undercooked and almost impossible to chew. The whole dish was sloppy, tasteless, sour, and cold.

Furthermore, even though I was the only customer in the café at 12:00, my order was forgotten and I ended up waiting 40 minutes for it. The matcha was okay, but it definitely wasn't worth it.

I would not recommend this...

Amazing food! Incredible flavors! High quality food and everything is prepared with love and care. Everything is super fresh and tasty. Tasted all 3 sandwiches which were all perfect! Great service as well. Beautiful venue with lots of light, plants and cozy atmosphere. We went back for coffee and cake. The Masala Chai Latte was devine! Coffees all delicious too. Cakes are good but curious about their own desserts as their own food is more impressive:)) We will be back to try the dinner menu!
