Excellent espresso. Tasty sandwiches and salads. Cookies, and (cup)cakes are a bit too sweet but fresh! Yes, the prices are a bit high, but you get quality for your money. Definitely a favourite place of mine. If anyone asks if I know of a good coffee place, I always recommend Doppio Espresso. The pastries and sandwiches are very good too. the servers are always not that great because they sometimes get something wrong on order or don't know how to operate the cash register or point system, Piggy. Once, I asked for 1 chai latte and got 2 regular coffee lattes, but after I realized it, I had take a few sips, I asked the server who took my order but she heard me wrong. OK. Admittedly, that can happen. However, I didn't get an apology or a chai latte probably also because they were closing. Still manager was right there, and he didn't offer to give me a chai latte nonetheless an apology. Instead, I just decided to take the 2nd latte home and just get high on coffee. Great service and very good coffee. I was there several times, but remember one story when I was with my friends, and was already quite late. We forgot that they were closing or already closed, and suddenly we hear vacuum cleaner noise in background. It turned out that it was so late, nobody was in Cafee, so I asked staff whether it's not a problem being sorry at the same time we are so late. The response was that is not a problem and we can stay and enjoy while they are cleaning. I don't speak dutch yet, at least not in a way to have regular comfortable conversation, however was doing my best, and was also appreciated. Yesterday I was in the city center and I got an urgent need of using a toilet, after visiting the toilet at the Molenpoort (which accepts only coins and I did not have), I ended up at Doppio. I kindly asked to use their toilet clearly stating that I would have consumed something at the bar after. I was addressed really rudely by one of the waitress whom looked at me as if I had some kind of plague. After this episode, I was finally able to use the toilet and once I was done, I waited at the entrance to thank for the service and get seated to drink something.
