Pinocchio — Restaurant in Noordwijk

By far the worst experience I have had in Europe.

The guy who took the orders treated us as if we were eating there for free.

Firstly he asked us to sit at a table next to the entrance though there were enough tables were free. When asked he said the other tables were reserved though I could not see anyone coming later. When I wanted to order a small pizza for my daughter at, he just gave a very rude reply that it was too late (21:15) and the kitchen will be closed shortly and I should have ordered earlier. Nevertheless he took the order but it left a very bad experience overall. I have been living in Germany since many years but have never experienced this kind of behaviour. I observed if he was behaving the same way with others but he was very courteous. I couldn't stop myself to think that the guy was targeting us based on who we were. I really hope I am completely wrong but genuinely I felt that. It affected me very much especially because I have never faced that.

When we ordered the pizza we were asked what we wanted to drink. We said we didn't feel ike any drinks and we're told we could take away but not sit in the restaurant. I told the waitress I really didn't want drinks so she agreed but turned very unfriendly. Then she brought me the wrong pizza (punishment?). The doggy bag for my grandson had to be paid for (!) So I agreed to that. When I went to pay the bill the boss came out and started to tell me that I really should have ordered drinks since everything is so expensive now. Does he really mean he doesn't earn enough on 3 pizzas? He even told me that a next time I could order take away. As if I'd ever go back there. A very weird...

The first time in my life that I didn't give any tip! We've waited so long, didn't even get our starter-bread while other guests, who arrived later, already nearly finished their main course. When I told the waiter that and asked in he could bring the vitello tonato he got angry and told me that we have to wait because we were five persons. Ridiculous!

We've had Pizzas, Lasagne, Fries and Saltimbocca. All near to the worst food we ever had.

Zero quality, the waiter should find another job, the cook too.

This restaurant can only exist because tourists like us just don't know about that.
