After a long day at tulip gardens me and my family were craving for Indian food hence we booked a place for 5 people here. We ordered :
Rotis: they were really nice and fresh Naan: they were decent Chicken madras : the chicken tasted a bit old. The gravy was bland not thoroughly cooked. I requested extra spicy even though they served it as bland as it could be. Lamb Madras: the meat was a bit hard and the gravy was as the chicken one even after requesting a good level of spicy. It was simply tomorrow purée which was half cooked. Chicken Briyani: I mean I have never seen or heard of green peas in chicken Briyani. And it was no where near tasted liked chicken Briyani. The basmati rice that accompanied the gravies was old and dry. Lamb kebab: was decent and well spiced Mango Lassis: which never arrived Bottled water: i specifically insisted on Five glasses but they served 4 and I was waiting for the 5th glass for eternity until my patience ran out and I had to request it deliberately. I expect these kind of attention to details when eating out at a restaurant which has 4.4 ratings overall.
Service : it’s was decent but I was not happy when they forgot to serve lassis but made sure to add it to the bill which we had to point out!
Ambience : it has good vibes and nice seating arrangement .
Overall : I never has been this disappointed after eating Indian at a restaurant. It was not where Indian. Looking the ratings which contradict the food authenticity I believe it only caters to Non Indian customers. When you say it’s Indian and we expect at least somewhat authentic Indian food.
We paid 96 euros over all and never felt this cheated. I have been living in Europe for the past 12 years never have I felt this cheated by quality of food . I have eaten in some many amazing indian restaurants in Amsterdam. If you know Indian food I would never recommend this place. I have never written a detailed review like this and I hope you better improve your...
Read moreAfter a long, tiring day exploring the breathtaking beauty of Amsterdam and the Keukenhof Tulip Garden, my family and I (my wife and elderly parents included) were craving some comforting Indian food. Unfortunately, we ended up at Sunand Indian restaurant Bomstraat, Noordvijk a decision we deeply regret.
This place is nothing short of a scam. The food was absolutely horrendous. I’m talking about stale, flavorless, and possibly reheated leftovers passed off as “authentic cuisine.” Every single dish was either cold, undercooked, or just plain disgusting. Even something as basic as rice was a disaster.
The staff? Completely indifferent, bordering on rude. Zero hospitality. It felt like they were doing us a favor by even acknowledging our presence.
To call this place a restaurant is an insult to actual restaurants. It’s a tourist trap pretending to serve Indian food while dishing out overpriced garbage with zero accountability. Shame on them for taking advantage of travelers looking for a familiar taste of home.
Do yourself a favor — avoid this place at all costs. You’ll...

Being an Indian myself, I had been looking for an Indian restaurant close to Sassenheim. I visited a couple of Indian restaurants in Leiden, but they never lived up to my expectations.
When I found out about Sunand and ordered our first meal with them, there was no looking back... a wonderful menu with an authentic taste, that takes me on a journey back home every time!
So far, I've always ordered in, but I'm soooo looking forward to enjoying a meal with them in Noordwijk one day!
Note that they can make your meals really hot and spicy and "lip smacking-ly" amazing. But if you cannot handle the heat, they will tone it down to make sure you can still enjoy the taste of India!
Definitely & Highly...
