Very welcoming, delicious, friendly bakery in the far "suburbs" of Amsterdam in the Ouderkerk area. During the "Covid-times" this place is fortunately open since it is food related. This is a charming little village outside of Amstelveen outside of Amsterdam.
Delicious pastries, coffee, and other deserts. So lekker!
I can only imagine (as a fantasy) how awesome this place would be with no restrictions. It is on a beautiful canal and the Amstel.
The downside is there is no bike parking out front, but on the plus side, a historic cemetery across the street. You can't park your bike against that fence, but people still do.

Service is bad. We sat at an outside table, asked for two espressos. They arrived in a paper cup, with the cookie set directly on the dirty wooden table (no plate!). The paper cup had “save the rainforest” printed on it. You know what saves the rainforest? Using a porcelain cup that you can wash and reuse!
We asked for two apple pies, warm. They arrived cold, and we didn’t get forks for them (hey, but at least we got a plate this time).

Read moreThe best bakery in the village. They make and bake everything themselves and are doing this for 122 years. There is is also a small cafe in the shop where you can have lunch or just a coffee or tea with some of their delicious products.
If you are going by car, it's best to park your car in the parking area towards the village centre. The shop itself is on a very small road so best to reach on...
