Very friendly staff, the rare kind that is truly and honestly friendly. The good vibes started already when we made the reservation by phone: super friendly and very helpful when suggesting a parking spot. The restaurant is very easily accessible. Nice and clean interior. The staff knew our names when we entered and made us feel immediately welcome. We went for the menu De Branding and didn't regret that. Every plate was very well prepared, beautifully decorated and was super tasty. So not only friendly staff but also a very skilled cook. We took grilled oysters as an extra starter and did not regret that! The quality of the oysters was top and the taste wonderful! Next was a starter with shrimps and smoked eel.... and it might be a detail to some, but the quality of both these ingredients was again top. Super delicious and refined! The same for the fish soup, the lobster and the sole: all top quality fish and prepared to perfection. And when we thought: " there is no way that they can spoil us more!" , the desert came. I enjoyed so much. To delicate tastes! A micro detail was that the coffee machine was malfunctioning, causing coffee grounds to be present in my Capuccino. In sure they were not aware of it when they served the coffee. So even despite this micro issue, a full 5 stars because the honest friendliness of the staff more than...
Read moreWe've been there as a tourist as a family of three. I can't say any bad thing about the quality of the food but I can't say the same thing about the restaurant. At first we did not understand that they did not like us by offering a table than changing it to another by the entrance door. We have a 2.5 years old child who's trying to learn new stuff all the time. Our sole purpose of eating there was to taste that so called mussels of Zeeland. Even though we were already full before going there we ordered other things as well for the sake of tasting. While we were eating our kid played by himself ate a little etc. After the meal when I was out to get my wallet from the car(which I've forgotten), the waitress refused to give a candy to our kid even though she has given to the other kid sitting next table. When I came back my wife's face was blurred and she did not mention about the waitress' behaviour. I've given them tip as well because I was not aware of the incident. When my wife told me the event after leaving the restaurant I felt really really bad and realized that we were not offered a candy as they did to all other guests leaving the restaurant. We were really easy to spot because of our language and outfit. So if you don't want to be treated disrespectfully, go to another...

N51°29'38.4" E4°03'08.4" This restaurant is located on the first floor and can be reached from the dike by walkway. From the restaurant, you have a view over the dike to oyster farms and the sea. The tables are neatly set with table linen in a simple, attractive and well-kept interior. In August 2018, we visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was almost completely full.
If you are in Yerseke, you have to eat mussels! This restaurant might be the best place for that. We ordered cooked mussels, prepared in the traditional way, with sauce and a bowl of fries. These "jumbo mussels" were very fresh and very tasty. We drank a carafe of white wine (Fincalos Trenzones), which fitted in very well and was of good quality. For dessert, we took their famous "Kaatje Mossel", a hearty dessert, consisting of chocolate ice cream with eggnog and whipped cream. Fine.
It is not a cheap restaurant, but it does have an excellent price-quality ratio. If you want to eat good mussels, this is the place to be.
Service was friendly and smooth. The owner came to us afterwards to have a chat and told us a lot about the best quality mussels, oysters...
