I shall provide an updated review within the next two days following an unfortunate event at this restaurant, where we were abruptly asked to leave. It's important to clarify that our behaviour did not devolve into shouting or any form of disruptive conduct; we were not abhorrent patrons by any means. Our grievances were purely related to the service, hospitality, and the quality of the food we received. This feedback was derived from our real-time experiences and corroborated by two additional visits within the preceding four months, all conducted without any noteworthy incident. Our complaints were delivered discreetly within the establishment at a time when other guests were absent, ensuring minimal disruption. However, we found ourselves ushered out of the restaurant merely 20 minutes ago, in witnessing of all other guests and people, a scenario eerily reminiscent of a distressing episode from a dictatorial regime-themed television show. An update to this review will be provided once I've had the opportunity to gather my thoughts and regulate the heightened emotions currently experienced due to the unexpected circumstance.
On a previous occasion, we celebrated my mother's 70th birthday at this restaurant. It was a momentous occasion, one where we hoped to create fond memories. To mark this special occasion, the restaurant kindly presented us with a gift card valued at €100, a generous gesture that we appreciated. We were subsequently invited back with the promise of an exceptional dining experience, one that would truly exemplify their acclaimed, yet in our experience, disappointingly elusive, service.
Unfortunately, the service we had previously encountered was noticeably absent during our revisits. The dining experiences we had anticipated, based on the restaurant's apparent reputation, were not realized. The ensuing visits did not align with the promise of delivering an experience that would stand up to the perceived standard of the establishment.
To further elucidate, despite the restaurant's reassurance that our subsequent visits would showcase their commitment to superior hospitality and food quality, our experiences were contrary to these expectations. We had hoped to encounter service reflective of their reputed caliber, however, our expectations remained unfulfilled. The incongruity between the promised and the actual experience served only to underscore our disappointment, thus warranting the expression of our concerns to the restaurant management.
In light of the aforementioned occurrences, we are currently contemplating initiating legal proceedings against the restaurant, Destino, to seek appropriate compensation for the numerous transgressions we have experienced. Over the course of our last three visits, we have lost valuable time and money, all the while being subjected to substandard service and inferior food quality. The accumulated dissatisfaction has been profound, leading us to consider this drastic course of action.
Moreover, the detrimental impact on our emotional well-being is considerable. We ventured into the restaurant with the intent to celebrate, enjoy a delightful meal, and create joyful memories. Instead, our experiences were marred by frustration and disappointment, an unfortunate contrast to the pleasant experiences we had envisaged.
Furthermore, the disrespectful treatment by the restaurant's staff and management is deeply concerning and necessitates appropriate redress. We believe that every patron has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, and any deviation from this standard is simply unacceptable.
Therefore, we are considering pursuing legal recourse against Destino to address our grievances, seeking compensation for our financial loss, wasted time, and the emotional distress caused by the deficient service and disrespectful conduct. It is our hope that this will not only rectify our personal situation but also serve as a clear message that such inadequacies in service and breaches of basic customer respect will not...
Read moreThe food was good, but the service was way too slow. When we entered, at 8.40 in the evening, it took 5 minutes before somebody acknowledged we were there and let us seat. From there we were given menu, but no order was taken for 40 long minutes, not even the drinks. At 9.25 we could finally order. It took 10 minutes to bring 2 glasses of wine and for the first food (we are talking about tapas) we had to wait another 15 minutes. So from 8.40 when we entered, food started to come only at 9.50. You can imagine how hungry we were... We ordered 3 dishes each, but the last ones only came when the kitchen was already closing around 10.30, and one of them never arrived. We ordered others in exchange. When asking to the staff what was in the preparation, they never knew and had to ask to the kitchen. Pincho with meat... what is there? Note for the foreigners: the menu is only in dutch and unfortunately with some mixed spanish words in between. Results, the google translator does not understand much and an onion soup is translated into a fish soup and things like these... Last but not least, the room is incredibly packed with tables (more than they can manage, evidently) so close to each other that is difficult to move around and the environment is very loud. Hard to keep a...
Read moreNice decoration and vibe, but the food is simply not that good. Waiters are friendly; drinks and coffee are fine, but the tapas are expensive for how small they are, and none of the 8 dishes we ordered did truly deliver up to expectations. Tortilla was overdone and had too little salt, Manchego cheese pieces were hardened (so clearly pre-cut and left like that for long), Chicken was not really tender, fried berenjena (eggplant) was not fully done; only the croqueta was more or less up to standard. I may be critical, but for €35-50 per person I would be surprised if any Spanish person would pay Destino a...
