I almost didn't want to write a review for this place. Not because it doesn't deserve it, but because the more 5 star reviews this place gets (and it deserves every one), the more people are going to start to go, which means longer wait times the next time I'm there!
Having lived on the east coast of the USA for 5 years, I had plenty of very good bagels & bagel sandwiches in my time. I came here with high expectations, and it somehow surpassed all of them. These bagels are just as good as, if not better, some of the best bagel spots that NY/NJ/PA/etc have to offer. I would put this up against any of them.
The bagels themselves are of course the highlight. Perfectly seasoned and baked with great texture and substance. Then the ingredients they use for the sandwiches just takes these to the next level: fresh, tasty, and plentiful.
Sure, the costs are a bit high for what you get (especially with the drinks) and there will almost definitely be a 30+ minute wait from when you arrive to when you get your food, but it is well worth it and I will definitely go...
Read moreAs a Jersey girl, I had high expectations after reading all the rave reviews. Don’t worry, though, they’re all true. Where I’m from, we take our bagels seriously, and given the experience I’ve had with bagels in the Netherlands so far, I was skeptical at first. However, I can officially confirm that the bagels here are Jersey-approved. The texture is unlike any bagel I’ve ever had in the Netherlands and honestly better than some I’ve had in the states. An ever-so-slightly crisp shell on the outside with a perfectly chewy, doughy inside, they’ve got their bagel recipe down! The staff is friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. The guy preparing our sandwiches insisted on adding something else since we omitted the bacon but still paid the same price. We ended up going with some melty gouda that was all nice and crispy on the edges - delicious! I guess I’m just going to have to stop by every weekend now. All my fellow Americans, this place is the...
Read moreThe bagels are quite good, although vegetarian options are quite limited.
On the day we visited (1 November), the place seemed like it wasn’t running very efficiently. Our order (two à la carte bagels) took over 20 minutes to arrive despite the restaurant being half-empty. There were five people on staff (almost as much as customers lol) so it definitely wasn’t an understaffing issue.
Additionally, the girl who took our order informed us that they were out of everything bagels, so we settled for sesame. 3 minutes later, a fresh tray of everything bagels came out of the oven. Ideally, the hostess would have been able to let us know about this as we would not have minded waiting a couple extra minutes. This seems like a team communication / staff...
