L'Italiano — Restaurant in Rotterdam

So...my first time visiting Rotterdam and my girlfriend took me to this restaurant. The service was good, very nice and polite. We ordered our food and I was wondering why it took some time...and then I knew why! She order pasta with shrimp and I have to say that I took a bite and it really surprised me, fresh and very delicious by the way. But when I took the first bite of my lasagna...OMG!! I fall in love with this dish then!! The meat, the texture of the sauce, the pasta, the cheese....I mean, everything's fresh and on point-freaking delicious!! Now I know why they took their sweet time...because it's not frozen like other restaurants, this one is made right there by order! So I sent my congratulations to the chef and the kitchen stuff for this wonderful dish! Ho hum. It's not bad but the pizza (Quatro formagio) lacked taste and the crust tasted like instant dough, which is an achievement as they seem to make it fresh. Pasta is not fresh but instant pasta bought in supermarket. Pizza quite small, although it is called a large one. Staff forgot to put in the order for the starter, but had at least the decency to apologize. The location is really good and this could be THE place to go but I can easily mention multiple other Italian restaurants in Rotterdam that leave this one...

Een mooi restaurant op een mooie plek in Nesselande. Ik heb erg genoten van mijn pizza calzone pikante met gorgonzola en pittige salami. De smaak was goed. Mijn tafelgenoten waren wat minder enthousiast over hun maaltijd. We merkte allen dat de pizza korsten wat aan de taaie kant waren. Mijn vriendin had een pasta waar ze ook niet al te lovend over was. ‘S avonds is ze helaas ziek geworden. Hier geef ik niet direct de schuld aan de kwaliteit van het eten want daar is verder geen bewijs voor maar ik noem het toch maar even. De service is vriendelijk echter was er bij ons een klein foutje gemaakt, mogelijk een beginnersfout van een onervaren serveerster, en was een bestelling voor drie drankjes bij een verkeerde tafel afgeleverd maar wel op de rekening gezet. Kan gebeuren. Ook was er geen radler beschikbaar maar werd me in de plaats daarvan aangeraden een ander biertje te nemen wat er erg op leek. Bleek achteraf een speciaalbiertje te zijn. Het zat alleen wel bij de bestelling die we niet kregen.

Ondanks alles heb ik toch heerlijk gegeten en is mijn persoonlijke mening goed over dit restaurant. Daarom...
