Mevrouw Meijer — Restaurant in Rotterdam

It was our first time at Mevrouw Meijer and we had an amazing experience. The restaurant is an oasis in Rotterdam Noord with a great atmosphere. We arrived and the sun was shinning and the terras is situated right so you can enjoy the evening sun. We started with an appetitive and some oysters outside which was a perfect start to the dinner. Contantijn was our waiter and he explained our set menu with the wine pairing well. He was very attentive, kind and accomodating. The set menu had great variety and suprising taste which we really enjoyed. The pairing of the wines was interesting and we enjoyed the generous small glass option. Forget about Instagram! Not that Mevrouw Meijer's food is not pretty, or that its quaint French location (in the middle of Rotterdam!) is not picturesque, but the moment you set foot in this restaurant, you know that that's not what this place is about. I've been going to this restaurant for 7+ years and it remains my all time favourite. They keep changing dishes so even if you go every month, you will always be able to try something new. The food is great but also the place itself and the people there. It's a very special place to me that never disappoint.
