This was the first time in my life I have experienced such bad service. When we walked in we were ignored by the waiters, while they immediately went to deal with the group that came in after us. Not a word spoken, just a glance and they were busy with something else.

Once we went up to the waiter in order to get a table, which we had reserved a couple of days in advance, they sat us at a table which was not set, nor reserved, however it was right next to a "ledge" where the waiters stored the menus. Because of this that area was very busy and just not comfortable to sit at. At some point a waitress got too tired to even put the menus and opted into throwing them on the pile, at some point almost making them almost fall into our food. We asked another waiter to change the table to another one, as to he responded "I'll ask but I have more important things to do".

For 20 minutes we were again being ignored, while the waitress was picking up menus right next to us and serving people around us. Only after asking another waiter to come and take our order someone finally came over. Once we ordered the food, the pasta came half cold and done in 5 minutes, so clearly it wasn't fresh at all.

In general the service was just terrible, the food was mediocre and not worth the price. I do not understand why only we received such bad treatment, as everybody around us was being...

I have been here a few times and usually it is fine. Staff always friendly, food pretty decent and great location. This time however they were having a wasp infestation. Late summer it is not uncommon to have a wasp or two when sitting outside but this was ridiculous, unresponsible even to have people sitting outside. We sat down and immediately had a few wasps around us, by the time we got our drinks we had 5 sitting on our glasses, table and flying around us. Turned out every single table was having the same problem. There were literally hundreds flying around. I'm fine with wasps but my girlfriend is very allergic so we moved inside and ordered food. Inside is a bit elevated so you can overlook the terrace. Everywhere you looked there were people standing up and waving away wasps. Next to us there were a few ladies and one of them got stung in the face while being indoors. Even indoors there were a few flying around. The restaurant had a few catchers hanging around and they were filling up fast but it wasn't enough. In my opinion they should try and locate the nest.

Disappointing service for the price and reputation

The food was fine, but nothing extraordinary for the price and the place’s supposed standing. The real issue was the service. They gave us menus only in Dutch, made no effort to speak English or explain anything. No drink menu was offered, and we were pressured to order drinks, which only arrived long after the food.

The worst part was paying. There were no clear instructions, so we stood up and calmly walked toward the central counter to pay. Out of nowhere, a server from our section ran after us and scolded us, accusing us of not paying. But why say goodbye to us if you think we’re running off? Once at the counter, the attitude was terrible. She treated us like thieves and lectured us, saying, “If you ate there, you should’ve paid there.” Excuse me? We’re the customers. It’s your job to guide us, not to insult us.

And let’s be honest—she only dared to treat us like this because we’re young and tourists. The disrespect was unacceptable. For the price they charge, the service should match. It didn’t. We won’t be...
