Sofra restaurant — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Probably one of my favourite restaurants in the Netherlands. The food is so hearty and fragrant. I love the fact that they have soups which are very hard to find. I tried the tavuk, işkembe and kelle paça and they were all very tasty. My favourite is probably the tavuk. I can't figure out what the ingredients are, but they blend very well and I wanna keep ordering again and again. This comes from a person who isn't a chicken fan. Because I love beef and I often crave işkembe and kelle paça.

The must try here is iskender. The meat is so tender and it just melts in your mouth. Love the sauce. Love the fresh bread.

Keep in mind that adana kebap and sac kavurma are also insanely good. So it's really hard to choose what to order. I like to bring my loved ones and we all order different things and we share them so we can try them all.

Honestly best Turkish food I’ve eaten so far. I’ve been to this place twice, first time I ordered some skewered meat with rice (I don’t exactly remember) and second time some spare ribs. The ribs were honestly some of the best ribs I’ve ever eaten and they were also very very tender which for me personally it might have been too much but it wasn’t much of an issue. The service was great and it wasn’t anything extravagant or out of this world but it was genuine and efficient. In terms of atmosphere, it was pretty good and despite it being slightly empty, it was also a Sunday afternoon on a rainy day. We get across to this place, since I was somewhat familiar with Turkish cuisine. I just go in and grab the menu from register, to see what they offer without even seated. Menu was very large and attractive, decided to give it a chance. Man!! did we find a treasure? Adana kebab was like original thing, but not as spicy as this Texan likes but it was juicy succulent and tastes like real meat. Off course we order Iskender too, and that was authentic as well, not frozen industrial crap. Owner Mr. Ragip was all over the place, he was there for our needs before we realize we need them. This place definately deserves 2nd, 3rd, 15th visit. This is goooooood fooood, in nice...
