Starbucks — Restaurant in Rotterdam

I guess rolling eyes at customers is acceptable now. Maybe it was the hot weather or the fact that she was left alone with newbies, but those are not excuses for such poor attitude.

I’ve been trying to digest this bad experience but it just doesn’t work.

This spot used to be my go-to place when I was writing my thesis, working from "home," or even just reading books. The team back in the day, especially in 2022 and 2023, left a very good impression on me. They remembered my name and my regular drink after just 4-5 visits. “Venti decaf latte, right?” they would say, always with big smiles. There were even several times when the barista double-checked with me because the label didn’t show decaf.

What happened today made me realize that those good days are gone. I don’t want to pay and receive negative energy instead. I will avoid this shop until their next...

Yesterday I ordered four drinks at this Starbucks via Uber Eats. Unfortunately the delivery service was very bad. My drinks had spilled and it was leaking everywhere. I then tried to call the delivery guy, but he wasn’t picking up his phone. Then I called this Starbucks and I had mr. Minassie (sorry if it’s spelled wrong) on the phone. He tried to call the delivery guy too, but also couldn’t reach him. He then tried to find solutions with me. In the end he offered that I ordered tomorrow (so today) again, but just one drink in a tall size, and when he sees my name pop up, he’ll give me the four drinks I ordered yesterday for free in VENTI sizes. So I did that and HE DID IT!!!! I must say that he was also very kind and generous! If he reads this, I hope he’ll know that I really appreciated his service!!! Thank you mr. Minassie :))))...

This Starbucks just opened and is exactly what this mall needed; a place to relax and have some coffee. This particular Starbucks is spacious, with plenty of seating inside the restaurant as well as 'outside' in the mall. It looks pretty nice, on account of the glass store front, 'homey' interior and luxury finish. I find Starbucks restaurants have become more Spartan lately and less inviting to sit down for a moment but that's not the case here.

The guy behind the coffee machine was like a human octopus; I have never seen a Starbucks barista keep up with such a line of orders that fast. He was topping up a long black with one hand while handing out a machiatto with the other.

Free WiFi. Paid parking available outside and under the mall. Rates are fair; I paid somewhere around €2,40 for two...
