Wilskracht Bar en Keuken — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Good food, poor service, wild pricing.

Not a good experience, not worthy of the price, recommend only attending with good company. Bar staff friendly, waiting staff distictincly unfriendly.

The starters came fairly quickly and were both excellent (beef carpaccio and chicken bao buns), then it was over an hours wait for a pizza and a mac and cheese main. This while we were only the second seated table in the entire restaurant. It turns out Wilskracht restaurant is shared/sistered with the pizza restaurant next door, and the pizza chef was stuck on a particularly difficult delivery so wasn't available to cook our order.

When it arrived the pizza was good, with a great base and balance of flavour with the salami and truffle. The mac and cheese was mediocre and a small portion for what is probably their cheapest base cost menu item. We finished our mains at 9:10pm and tried to order desserts only to be told that the kitchen is closed. We didn't argue and just paid and left for a better venue. Also, draught Langunitas are 6€/33cl.

Cannot recommend and...

Great bar! I'll give them kudos for serving over 100 different types of beers, served by folks who know their stuff. Prices are as one would expect from a Dutch bar: a little steep, but nothing too shocking.

As someone who doesn't drink alcohol based on principle, I got to taste some of their non-alcoholic options, and they were quite nice. My friends (who did go for their beer) all sang praise. The music that plays is, well, gezellig! The staff looked like they enjoyed working there (most were singing/whistling along to the music some were cracking jokes at one another), which adds to the experience.

I cannot give a 5-star rating, for I did not taste their food, but I'd be more than happy to come back...

Helaas kan ik geen 0 sterren geven, vandaar 1. 10 oktober, 15:22 uur ben ik genoodzaakt van dit terras op te stappen door het uiterst respectloze en klantonvriendelijke gedrag van de dienstdoende ober van middelbare leeftijd die mijn vader had kunnen zijn.

Daar zat ik netjes en geduldig, langer dan 10 min te wachten, als moeder die haar rondje vaak hier doet in de wijk met haar kinderwagen, niemand liep rond op het terras. Ik ging naar binnen om te informeren of iemand eraan kwam en of ik wellicht aan de bar moest bestellen, zo ja geen probleem, waarbij de ober aangaf eraan te komen, prima.

Eenmaal aan mijn tafel werd ik begroet met de opmerking: "Nou! Ik moet even zeggen dat je hier niet een tijdje zit te wachten! Want ik heb je al door het raam zien zitten!" Ik vroeg aan de ober: "Gaat u nou met mij als klant in discussie hoe lang ik hier op het terras zit terwijl u mij door het raam wel heeft gezien? Of wilt u misschien mijn bestelling opnemen?" Daarop was het antwoord dat hij hier toch niet omheen kon en dat hij zijn opmerking nog een keer moest herhalen. Door deze respectloze behandeling ben ik van het terras opgestapt.

Beste horecaonderneming, als de klant geen koning is, dan verdient hij of zij op z'n minst uw respectvolle behandeling. Vooral als uw terras van 5 tafeltjes vol, getuige is van het onacceptabele gedrag van uw medewerker op een rustige dinsdag middag, waar ik als klant ook nog eens gespot ben door het raam.

Deze klacht over gebrek aan basis respect van jullie kant wordt officieel ook via jullie website ingediend en ik ben erg benieuwd hoe jullie hiermee om...
