Grand Cafe Babbels — Restaurant in Schiedam

If there was a choice to give this Restaurant 0 Stars then I would. We waited for more than 30 minuets to be served. The staff clearly were not busy and walked past us on a few occasions. My friend stood up and approached the waitress to inform her we were ready to place our order and the waitress replied "Yes, when we are ready we will serve you". Disgusting work ethic and staff team. I would never eat here again. The staff were not friendly at all. Very horrible people who do not deserve jobs. Why do you have jobs as waitresses, whom are meant to provide table service, if we have to stand up and approach you? The staff team did not give this same treatment to the other Caucasian customers. Therefore, the only thing I can say is this staff team are prejudice. I was only holiday, taking a break from the UK and this restaurant RUINED my experience of the Netherlands. And my food lacked flavour to add the cherry on top. Please see pictures, the tall waitress with the curly hair was who we interacted with, horrible. As you can see, the restaurant was not even busy. (We also did not finish the food, it was overpriced...

We had a great experience at the Grand Cafe Babbels.

I can say the place has a really friendly staff, the service was good and fast.

They have plenty of options on the menu and the place itself is nice, with an indoor and outdoor area.

My comment goes regarding the food itself that although it was good, I think it missed salt/sauce. I had on beef meal with brie cheese, but it lack a lot in flavor.

Op Valentijnsdag het speciale 3-gangen menu gegeten met twee personen. Het eerste deel van de avond liep redelijk goed. Het eten was oké, lekker maar niet bijzonder. Het hoofdgerecht (ik had de vis met kaas/tomaat/pesto) was zelfs best flauw. Overall was het eten wat je verwacht van een lokaal eetcafé, alleen een stuk duurder. Bij het ontvangen van het toetje viel het al op dat de service opeens achteruit ging. We wilde nog koffie bestellen voor bij het toetje, maar er was geen serveerster meer in zicht. Uiteindelijk bij het ophalen van de lege borden snel nog besteld. Rond een uur of half 10 bleek dat de serveersters niet meer aanwezig waren. Er was geen laatste ronde aangegeven en terwijl we probeerde iemand te roepen voor de rekening werd het aan de bar steeds luidruchtiger. Er zat een man flink aangeschoten steeds luidruchtiger te converseren en wij voelde ons erg ongemakkelijk. We zijn naar de bar gelopen waar nog iemand aan het "werk" was, en hebben snel betaald. Er werd nog gevraagd of we het eten lekker vonden door een man met zijn shirt half uit zijn broek en zijn toen snel weggegaan. Die dronken man stond buiten voor de deur te roken en riep achter ons aan dat het "normaal niet zo luidruchtig is hoor dames".

Nooit meer. 90€ kwijt voor twee personen, mediocre eten, en een onbeschoft einde...
