La Traviata van Sluis — Restaurant in Sluis

So a year ago we stopped here (Sluis), found a place open on New Years day (Inges I think) and had the most amazing lunch!!! A year later we're back but unfortunately the family run restaurant closed, permanently but we ended up in the same restaurant building but different owners and very different food. Looked like a couple were running the place, it wasn't busy when we entered but took a fair while for any order to be taken. By the time they came for the drinks order we were ready to order everything. Starter - calamari!! and man do I love it! This however, I did not. Waaay too much batter and oil, it had no flavour and was a challenge to finish. Very disappointijg starter. 3 of us ordered the flemish stew with high expectations due to one we had tried last year, however we were all disappointed and left wishing we had stopped somewhere else. The stew had items in it that weren't listed in the description and the beef had so much fat to it, that we had a pile of fat at the edge of our plates. On top of this, the wine we ordered literally had no taste to it, it was very weird. We're not the sort to leave an empty glass but we did, it was so bland. I don't think this is against them but more the people whoever made the wine. They also got my mother-in-laws order wrong, completely. Fair enough there's an language barrier but it was repeated by them and she also pointed at it in the menu to double check. Unfortunately the warm family run restaurant was gone and so was the magic...

Well, to mention only from what i have tried and ordered for a delivery, the rating does not include other foods in La Traviata. I've been ordering the pizza delivery mostly. Now this i'm saying based on many types of the pizza in La Traviata and this is not so good. One of the worst pizza's around. Their's pizza's are so thin, too thin. The ingredients, like nothing is on the pizza. The baked dough is not so good itself. I'm asking myself for what do i pay here... 🤔. Also not being the cheapest in the hood, i was expecting a great pizza. So far, i wouldn't recommend for the pizza, but for the other foods it's worth to...

We discovered a restaurant with really delicious food! We ordered a burger, mixed grill and a salad with hot goat cheese. French fries and burger top. The salad is served with fresh bread.
