Ixi Restaurant Sushi & Grill & Drink — Restaurant in Utrecht

We dined here on a Tuesday evening. Long story short, it was fantastic! The food was as good as they look on the pictures/menu. My mom is generally critical of the quality of seafood, but this time she had only positive things to say about the seafood dishes we ordered (e.g., shrimps, eels, fish).

The atmosphere was nice and cozy. The staff were very welcoming and not at all pushy or intrusive. What we appreciated the most was that we were able to order up to 3 dishes per person per round, and all the dishes were usually served within a matter of 2 or 3 minutes. Within 2.5 hours of dining time, we were able to order as many rounds as we pleased without feeling pressured. This stands in great contrast to some restaurants with a similar concept but which impose strict rules on customers (e.g., only one dish per round, long waiting time between rounds, pushy with drinks and desserts, early last round). The finished dishes were removed very promptly, too.

Overall, we really enjoyed this dining experience and would probably come back at some point. The only, minor criticisms were that the watermelon cosmos cocktail was quite underwhelming and the dessert (matcha ice cream and cheesecake) tasted like supermarket-bought, but these were not part of the AYCE...

The restaurant is cozy and well spaced. Many sofas, which I personally enjoy. The staff is super efficient. They bring the food and clean the tables very fast. The concept for all you can taste is amazing for someone out to try multiple dishes at the same time. You order 3 things (sort of like tapas) every 8 minutes. You can hang around for about 2 hours, but you'll be full way before then. I managed to go through 15 dishes (5 rounds) and I was bursting at the seams.
