I am tired of this. Seriously. I sat outside and nothing happened for so long. Must have been solid 15 minutes. A young lady came outside eventually to take the payment of a guy sitting behind me who was inside beforehand and moved out to smoke. Came to my table and said - I kid you not: "Want to order?". First of all: I highly appreciate you start in english. OBVIOUSLY I have shown in some shape or form that I am a stupid annoying tourist, who you guys do not want to have there. I said I do and luckily I did check their card before getting there. I did order food (priced at 28€). They do not tell what beers they serve on the card as they stock everchanging local and other beer. So I asked what beer they have and her response was "many". I seriously WISH I was kidding. Shrugging her shoulders she said "like you want Heineken?". Guys, I do not know your customs in the Netherlands and if I did something wrong, fine. My fault. Id did not want to offend anybody. But at least tell me. At the end of the day, I am there to pay for the service, food and beer. Give me a chance to endevour it properly -and learn for the future so I can do it your way.
There were no paper cards lieing around, but their online service is great. Now do the math if there were people around not ackeen to such stuff. What would they have done? She brought no card out so what would have been her answer if they did ask for if? "Yeah, I will bring it" and then be a now show for another 15 mintues? If you want people to come inside to order SAY SO SOMEWHERE. Nobody would mind, but being ignored and treated like an absolute brick? Damn.
Well, the Heineken came quick and the food after 20 minutes. Spot on, seriously! That was great! I had the smoked brisked. Oh boy, that was insanely good. The sauce and the fries...highly recommended. What put me off even further was the fact, that they did drop the food on my table and did serve the table down the row several times while I was there. They were speaking dutch, which is why I have been lead to the "annoying tourist" bit at the start. Never have I been asked for a refill. Once everything was done and the dutch table was served once more, sucessfully ignoring me, I took the plate and empty glass and brought it inside myself. The lady from the start again ignored me. A guy took my payment and put his - it sounds weird, but I will swear an oath to this one - earpods back in. Do I have to draw it out further what I meant by feeling unwelcome? I then did see their incredibly broad beer range. Not only by bottle in their vast fridges, but also at draft. Never got around to discover more than Heineken...which we all know already. But hey...now you may say I just want to harm them, look at the stars. I mean no harm at all. Their food was great. The service lackluster.
Oh and you may think they were busy: Guy who sat inside and came out for a smoke, me and then the five dutch guys. That's it. No...
Read moreWe ordered from 2 persons menu. I could not remember the name, but it included B&B burger, steak and chicken. We asked to replace chicken with spare ribs, and they kindly accepted it. They brought the food quickly, but burger and steak was not warm enough and after some minutes it got cold and we had to eat it quickly which didn't get any colder. The taste and the sauce that they made for steak were tasty. They had very disappointing service. I understand the restaurant was so busy, but it should not affect on quality of service. When they brought our food they just bought plates and did not bring any fork and mess for eating. So, after 2 times pointing to the staff, they brought them, while our food was already cold and it became colder. I ordered a glass of wine and they did not bring it after 20 min and I said again to the waiter she said “it is not in the system”, second problem. They brought my second order🤞🏻for wine after 20 min (while they should bring it sooner) and my food was already finished. So, I refused to drink it and I said “it is too late for me and I don’t want it anymore” and she accepted it. Unbelievably, she brought the recipe that it took just 15 min from your order and I explained it was not 15 min it is 20 min and, plus, it was almost 40 min from my first request for just a glass of wine. All in all, they accepted it, but their behavior was not acceptable. When she bought the recipe it was kind of annoying situation that It made me feel like they thought I was lying. There were two large group there, all busy serving them. So small group should wait for each service. I gave them 1 star for service just because they accepted to replace chicken with spareribs. Otherwise, it is below zero. The vibe and view of first floor is nice, but we never back to this restaurant with this disrespectful service, while their food was...
Read moreSummary: friendly staff, longish wait, stupid billing system, mediocre nachos, good beet burger with bad sla, terrible fries. And way over prized (esp. for vegetarians)!
Details: Friendly staff trying to accommodate the different dietary requirements. They did forget one food and drinks order so they came and ask everyone again. Arrival was around 20:50. We had the set menu for 27!!! Euros per person as a group booking. Menu: Nachos with guac (2 table spoons), a pile of pepper and tomatoes, some cheese and 6 table spoons of (runny? Very cream milk tasting) sour cream plus chicken wings; the second menu item was a burger with fries at 22:00: beef, chicken or beetroot with sla. As a vegetarian 27!! Euros was way too much for the nachos and a burger. The fries were too thick, unflavoured, soft and made from not great potatoes. The beetroot patty was pretty good, but the sla made me feel sick. It was too sour and dripping off the burger (the burger was way nicer with just the bun plus the patty). I left earlier than my friends and wanted to pay my part. Not possible! They can't split the bill before everyone is done...so I left my friend 27 euros in cash and left. Kind...
