Roberto Gelato — Restaurant in Utrecht

I love ice-cream and Roberto's shop too, but unfortunately the last few times the ice-cream was too warm and I had to eat it too fast (on a 20 degrees day) because it was melting already while I was finishing the payment. This used to be different here, the ice-cream was colder. Also the scoops are becoming very small and while the first scoop out of 2 is more or less alright, the second ball is not a full ball but one gentle scoop, thasmt looks exactly like halfball on top of the first one and contains about big table spoon of ice-cream. It is true. They have the best ice cream, it’s truly something different. It’s true Italian ice cream with intense flavors. The whipped cream is such a treat in combination with the flavors strawberry and pure chocolate. Top it with some fresh baked hazelnuts and your day is one to remember. When I was pregnant my husband drove almost every day for the whole summer 17 minutes to get me some ice cream, were the scoops of deliciousness somewhat melted? Yes! But they still tasted amazing. Expectations for this place where too high. Ice cream is acceptable, but not as good as it is advertised or in other reviews.

First, it is too sweet, which hides all the flavors, and there is just the taste of sugar. Neither me, or my S.O. had any after taste of the flavors we chose.

Second, some flavors like limoncelo are great ideas but kept me from trying it because the color looked very very artificial.

I was hoping to get a glimpse of Italian gelato, but was just a regular ice cream.
