El Fuego Valkenburg — Restaurant in Valkenburg aan de Geul

After visiting the Christmas market, we enjoyed a lovely steak dinner. The staff was very friendly and checked on us several times throughout the evening. We started by sharing a tapas platter with the four of us, and for the main course, we had the steak and lamb, both of which were absolutely delicious.

We also had our dog with us, and the staff kindly provided us with a table by the wall, giving us some extra space for the dog, which was much appreciated.

Overall, we had an amazing experience and truly enjoyed the warm...

Interesting place compared to others in the same area. The food is definitely tasty. I like the place and we go often. The staff is friendly. However, you have to wait too long for your meal and it is a bit expensive. It is one of the nice ones in the main and turistic street. The burger does not taste as butter only but like a good meat. Toch nog 2 sterren, maar dat is uitsluitend omdat de kok de enige lijkt die zijn vak wel verstaat. Het eten was dan ook allemaal even heerlijk, maar daar houd het dan toch echt mee op.

Bij het bestellen van de lunch was er maar weinig aandacht voor ons. De ober stond meteen de tafel achter ons op te ruimen. Maar ach, hij zal het wel snappen..... niet dus. Een andere serveerster kwan later vragen of ik nou dat broodje zalm had besteld. Hier is nooit sprake van geweest. Dus nu voor de 2e keer de bestelling door gegeven. Inmiddels was de boodschap dat we de soep en de rest van het eten tegelijk wilde ook in het niks opgelost.

Eerst dus de soep en een behoorlijke tijd nadat we dit op hadden, kwam de rest van het eten.... helaas verkeerd. Want hier kwam dat broodje zalm weer uit de hoge hoed. Je weet wel, die wij nooit hadden besteld. Dus maar weer voor de 3e keer aangeven wat onze bestelling wel moest zijn. Toen ik zei dat ik dit wel erg slecht vond reageerde de (wederom andere) serveerster niet met excuses, maar met een verdedigende 'dat was niet bij mij toch'.

Mijn eten was er dus inmiddels, maar mijn tafel heer moest wederom wachten. En als je dan denkt dat het daarmee af was.... helaas ze kwam nogmaals vragen of het de Vega wrap moest zijn. Dat is dus 4x. En de opmerking,;'ja ik zag al dat het was aangepast'. Dit was intern bij jullie misschien, niet door ons. Echt heel teleurstellend, maar zoals ik al zei; gelukkig verstaat de kok...
