Las Salinas — Restaurant in Veldhoven

This restaurant better be a joke! Far far away from being mexican ! I took two tex mex menu and in total I payed 75 £ ,and I regret it, a lot . They brought us a lots of random food, chicken was dry and old, as the rest of the meat. the beef fajitas was like sand in mouth! and they served us boiled mushrooms in a lake of OIL! The same with shrimps . Tortillas were glued with old looking cheese and fried too much , after I ate that mix of meat,chicken,oil and sauces I had stomachache, and I felt sick for days. I was worried for my health . Please tell the chef, which is American, to change his job.. Food is important to be FRESH AND GOOD FOR 70 BUCKS!! by a restaurant this is a shame, as they were the sticky tables and sits in it ! it smelled musty, dirty and untidy . Totally NOT...

It's was Saturday night, we were biking back home and we had no reservation, but they were not full. We got our drinks - and kids food - right out, and then waited almost a full hour to get our orders, Same with the tables around us, everyone was waiting. Another 35-40 minutes for the food to arrive, and there was a missing side dish. Food was OK but for 20 euro fajita the portions are very small even by Dutch standards - and it's a Mexican restaurant?! Maybe they treat regulars better, but no-one even mentioned the delay or apologized so I guess it's normal. 2 starts mostly because the kid's food was served on time but otherwise 1)super slow service 2)small portions (at any price) 3) pricey. There are better options not...

First of all, all creds to the owner! He made us feel incredibly welcome, took time to chat with us, arranged a better table for us so we didn’t have to sit next to the door to the terrace and made sure we weren’t sitting with empty glasses. Wow wow wow! Their cheesy nachos are some of the best nachos I have ever had. The guacamole and sour cream goes perfectly with it. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was slightly mediocre. Some improvements on that front would be in order but we still walked out with the biggest smiles. The drinks are delicious but a bit pricy. Overall, we loved the atmosphere plus the service so we will defenitely come back and recommend Las Salinas to everyone...
