Our family had dinner here last night. It was our very first outing in Monnickenham, and we were excited for the experience. Not to mention, we had been traveling all day and were quite tired and hungry, and hoping for a good meal. We arrived early, and were only the second family to be seated outdoors. Our waitress served us our two appetizers and glasses of water, and took our orders (for simple entrees). Then, we waited and watched with our three young children for over an hour and 40 minutes as the outside pavilion filled up with over 20-30 different tables of people all being served appetizers and dinner entrees at their tables. They seemed to be getting their food within a half hour or so. Some even finished, paid and left as we continued our wait. During this time, we kept trying to flag down the waitress to ask for help with our order but she wouldn’t look our way. She was unfriendly and curt toward us and did not offer an apology. When our food finally arrived, a hour and 40 minutes later, several of our entrees were cold.

Not that every experience is about race, but our family is a biracial family and it seemed as though that might have had an impact on how we were treated there. The rest of the clientele was white and seemed to be enjoying their experiences at the restaurant. We will never return to this establishment and would encourage other families like ours to think twice before going to this restaurant.

By far the worst restaurant I've ever visited - and not just in the Netherlands. Every MC Donalds has more style and, above all, taste. You could have guessed what to expect as soon as you walked in, but I was fooled by the good reviews (probably "fake" or written out of sheer good nature).

The food was an imposition. The "salad" smelled musty and earthy - absolutely inedible. The meat was an undefinable, sticky mush, lovelessly slapped onto the plate. Not a trace of flavor. Presentation? Not at all.

The service was unfriendly, annoyed and as attentive as an empty chair. Empty glasses, questions about the menu or a desired dish? Were consistently ignored or dismissed with a shrug of the shoulders.

Nothing is right here - neither quality nor service. This restaurant is a prime example of how not to run a restaurant. I can only strongly advise against it. If you want to do something good for your stomach, your wallet and your evening, give this restaurant a wide berth.

What I would like to add is that I had the feeling that I was not welcome here as a non-Dutch person. In Holland, I had the feeling for the first time that I was being treated like a foreigner. I can't say whether others had the same experience, but I felt like I was a second or third class person to the waiters just because I...

Very disappointing experience!! We waited for over an hour for our food because our order got lost or "misplaced" (according to a staff member). I was ready to leave and pay only for the drinks, but a staff member convinced me to stay, saying that the food was about to come out and that they would offer a discount for the inconvenience.

When the bill arrived, the only "discount" given was a coffee they had practically pressured me into ordering. I spoke to the staff, who said the manager refused to give any further compensation. Eventually, I spoke with the manager, he seemed completely indifferent, dismissive and rude. He insisted that the only discount would be the coffee and a small portion of fries, which was not what I had been promised when I agreed to stay.
