De Waegh Monnickendam — Restaurant in Waterland

No/awful service. I was sitting at a table, after 30 minutes no one came to the table to ask what we wanted to eat. We originally wanted to eat fast so I could go back and step on the bus. I waved towards the waiter/waitress but they ignored me. I waited for a bit longer and then I just walked inside to tell them. I did got to order. When I got my food (2 crockets with bread) they didn’t get my mustard. It was dry. It’s very expensive too. When I payed for my food and drinks it became €91,00. I was like how is that possible? So I looked at the receipt, and there were food on it that I didn’t even eat/drinks. So I went back and the waitress didn’t look nicely to me. But she didn’t even check wether what I really ate. She just gave back the money and kicked me out. I also missed my bus stop. Did they tried to scam me in...

We used to come often in the past years and even had our wedding dinner there which was a very good experience. We returned back after few years to discover a very different restaurant. Coffee was cold we had to return and ask for new one. Personnel indifferent and unapproachable and irritated. We asked for some input on one of the bites what it contained, they said they would check with the kitchen and come and let us know. Never happened. The whole experience here is fantastic. The food is excellent and the waiting staff are highly attentive and professional. My wife and I have eaten here many times. It's probably close to 1000 miles away from home but it's worth the journey every time. The food is mixture of traditional Dutch and modern cuisine given a French twists. The waiters speak excellent English and the dog is welcome inside and out. We sit outside on the terrace (under the heater if its cold) to watch the activity on...
