MMX Italian restaurant — Restaurant in Zandvoort

I have been to the restaurant with my husband. The employees were friendly to start with. Our starter was bruschetta and a mixed plate with carpaccio, vitello tonnato, bresaola, buffelmozzarella and crostino. The vitello was dry, the sauce tasted like nothing. The carpaccio was still half frozen and not eatable. The bread tasted old. The rest was okay, but nothing special. For the main course we had carbonara and pasta al parmigiano. The carbonara was with cream (which was written in the menue) and therefore wasn't a carbonara. It also tasted barely like anything. The other dish in comparison had a very strong flavour of the alcohol it was cooked with. Couldn't eat much of it. I doubt that any of the noodles are housemade. The wine we ordered was ok. We mentioned that the carpaccio was half frozen and the explanation was that it's really hard to find the perfect time to take the meat out of the freezer and to be served defrosted. They didn't offer us a replacement for that nor did we got a discount on the starter. All in all I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend...

Deze tent is geen eens 1 ster waard. We kwamen na een tijd terug, omdat de 1e keer een positieve ervaring was. Dat was vandaag totaal niet zo. We kwamen binnen, kregen een klein tafeltje bij het raam aangereikt. Buiten was het koud, dus we waren blij dat we in een “warm” restaurant konden zitten. Nou niks bleek minder waar. Het was er heel koud, er hing 1 heater op 1 meter afstand die naar mijn mening half stuk was. Afijn, we vroegen om een ander tafeltje omdat het echt heel koud was. Waarop we een best asociaal, en nogal geïrriteerd antwoord terug kregen. We zouden net 2 minuten binnen zijn en buiten was het kouder. De toon was bij deze al gezet. M’n vriend wou al weg, maar ik wou graag nog een kopje thee om misschien wat door te warmen. We bestelde 1 bier en 1 verse muntthee. Bier kon je het niet noemen, eerder water met een kleurstof, en in mijn verse muntthee zwommen een aantal vliegen die het erg naar hun zin hadden. We besloten om de rekening te vragen op het moment toen de beste man de bestelling op kwam nemen. Op de vraag waarom de rekening zei mijn vriend dat hij geen klik voelde met de beste man. Een op dat moment vriendelijk argument ipv in de rotte appel te bijten. Dit werd al helemaal niet goed ontvangen, en werden we praktisch de tent uit gegooid. We moesten meteen betalen, en zijn precieze woorden waren. Eruit, en er nooit meer in. Nou beste man, geen zorgen, wij zullen nooit meer een stap binnen zetten in dat ijs koude...

Definitely a good choice if you’re up for some good Italian food when you’re in Zandvoort. Everything is fresh, the pasta is home made and the pizza’s are absolutely great (good dough that has been risen for 12 hours).

Tip: with pizza’s you also have the option to get ‘black dough’ with activated charcoal. It’s a nice gimmick, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it.

As for desert, I can recommend the Tiramisu (home made). The Dame Blanche and Lemon Cake are decent but...
