Columbus Coffee — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

Wishing I'd read the reviews 1st.. the service was great, fast, friendly and attentive but food and drink quality and flavour are really lacking. Definitely not the typical Columbus coffee standard I've had before at other branches.

Bought some cabinet food - tandoori wrap & frittata. The wrap was dry and brittle, the tandoori chicken was the worst I've had. The tandoori flavour was weird. The veges were fresh at least. The frittata was av, the relish really carried it. I also got a sweet chai latte. It wasn't bland but whatever chai mix they use does not have a good flavour.

As the lady pulled the food out, a fly flew into the cabinet with all the food. I'm not sure why 1 of them came around to the front to just look in to find it. Not really very conducive to getting it out or keeping the food safe. Luckily it was the end of the day, but they still had...

Have had to come through here a number of times over the past few months by default as a relative is here in critical care. The food is hit and miss but generally ok. Slightly overpriced, but when you have minimal options, you pay. The major issue with this place is the Asian staff member (wears glasses) , she literally has the worst customer service. Serving myself and many others as if they are a nuisance and we have inconvenienced her. The rest of the team here are great but she is outwardly rude and makes for a poor experience. She may be very efficient in her role but I myself have decided not to get anything from here simply because I see she is serving and would rather go without. There has previously been so many bad reviews about this place and I would have thought the managenent would have taken the feedbacks into consideration and made some improvements. Had similar experience yesterday with one of the staff rudely telling me they were closed when they only had the shutters down on one side, I thought they might still be serving l. Secondly I ordered coffee in the morning and it tasted terrible, not anywhere near upto normal Columbus standard. Was too milky and seemed like milk was overheated too as it had burnt smell. Had to throw it away, what a waste of -$7. I am very disappointed with the service.
